I’ll never understand why the NHL keeps head coaches on such short leashes. Coaching carousels usually cause more problems than they solve. Yes I know it worked in Columbus this year but they’re the exception, not the norm.
The recycling of coaches is pathetic. The same 20 to 25 losers keep showing up over and over again. DeBoer has failed at five different locations. Why do teams keep giving these guys so many chances? DeBoer is like Boudreau – can win a lot of games but can't win in the playoffs. How many more chances will Roy get? Presumably at least three more if he wants them.

My Patrick! Young players today need to be trained with a lot of communication skills. It's sad, I love Patrick. With the Islanders' success this year, Patrick will be signed elsewhere if he wants, but if I were him, I'd take a nice, easy retirement!

4 games left and hanging on by their finger nails to a playoff spot i'm afraid it's to late besides i don't think this was about coaching it was about a personality conflict between darche and roy i don't mind the move getting a more experienced coach for next year unfortunately it's a little to late for this year

I SWEAR I AM GOING TO CREATE A RULE FOR THE NHL COACHES CANNOT BE TERMINATED IN LATE SEASON FOR PERFORMANCE REASONS! A COACH CAN BE TERMINATED FOR CRIME, DETRIMENTAL CONDUCT, UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT, OR OTHER! THEN YES THAT IS WARRANTED, BUT PERFORMANCE IS NOT ALLOWED! CHANGING COACHES NEED TO BE APPLIED BEFORE TRADE DEADLINE! CANNOT FIRE A COACH UNLESS IF THE THREE OR MORE STATED ABOVE WARRANTS A MOVE!
If a coach is loses his job in play of season! Do it in October-Early March! No personnel can be hired to be permanent head coach once the trade deadline is passed. One personnel with the team needs to take over as an interim head coach not permanent until the end of season!

It's the same coaches rotating from team to team to team as players lose interest. Maybe Patrick Roy ends up with the Leafs.???
I'm not a Patrick Roy fan, but he took a very average team to the brink of the playoffs, which is quite good. Furthermore, if what you're saying is true—that the players weren't giving 100% because of the coach—then it's the players who should be replaced because it's completely unprofessional, especially when you're on the verge of making the playoffs.
One less coaching availability for the Leafs for crying out loud! They are so out of touch!
Darche was hired to bring quick results and liked what I saw but firing Roy so soon, has left a bad taste in my mouth. Last season was definitely a disappointment but with a few new additions and Schaefer, he brought a different feel to this season. It was a joy. Not his fault the team look out of sorts the last few games. Regardless of what happens with what is left of this season, I truly believe that next season would have been different. In a positive way. Wish him the best of luck. The GOAT of goalies. He’ll find another NHL team. Worlds apart from Lambert and he’s back coaching.
This is going to sound insane, but I hope the Red Wings fire Coach McClellan and hire Roy.

IDK what Darche sees in Deboerer. Guy scraped two of the best keepers of the last 10yrs in Fleury and Oettinger. Had 3 loaded teams on paper with SJ…Vegas and Dallas and never won shit. Time will tell but…
