Shocked? Does Anson Carter know what he's talking about? "Playing the kind of hockey he wanted to play?" Obviously, he hasn't followed the Islanders this season. Roy has flipped lines and jumped back and forth between systems. What a bunch of bullshit.
Terrible move in losing Roy, I hope he finds coaching elsewhere. Just cause it worked so far for the Knights, doesn't mean it will for u guys too.
Tough timing but this was a good move by the Isles before another team like Toronto snags him.
The team was bad last year for the same reason they’re struggling when it matters now – Roy’s defensive system is weak and over reliant on elite goaltending. It was time for a change. DeBoer is probably the best coach on the market.
They said it themselves. The Islanders are in a freefall and have lost four in a row. How can they now say they're shocked? Do they realize that the Islanders have given up 20 goals during their four-game skid?
This will work as long as DeBoer doesnt publicly throw his goalie under the bus/pull him at crap times again. Definitely not thinking about his last playoff appearance 😂
Roy was not an improvment from Lambert…
Roy had a much stronger team than did Lambert and Roy could not get a PP to happen.
The player that will beed to go first will be Barzal… Barzal threw Lambert under the bus and praised Roy … somehow Barzy is still not motivated
No 1 has the guts on any of these shows to say that the continued hiring of retreads like Torts & PDB, while there are guys who are paying their dues & waiting their chance to be a head coach in the league, only get passed over isn't a good for the sport & the future of coaching on general!!
Roy did a fairly good job in managing Schaefer, but what coach wouldn’t have done the same when they saw Schaefer’s potential, energy and skill? What would anyone be saying about the job Roy did if the Islanders did not have Sorokin, Horvat and Schaefer?
