to confirm my understanding, MO’s xGA/60 is the best in the league? Holy shit what a monster
honestly so sick of this argument. Its annoying. The NHL has so many more issues than this. There is a playoff structure issue that is much more important than this. There is a points system issue that is more important than this.
Listen, i get it. This season sucks so we want to highlight our only bright spot, and we want an award for it.
But where was this energy when nick lidstrom got the norris while actively having less points, goals, etc than the others in the running as well as a NEGATIVE +/-
I am all for logical things, but its a bit contradictory for us as a fanbase to say we need an award to highlight mo’s work when we were all fine with nick getting the norris when he 100% did not deserve it. Lets be honest with ourselves, he did not deserve that norris.
We don’t , we need an Art Ross for defenseman and the Norris to be what it was intended to be. The highest point getter wins the norris a lot less than people seem to think. Its happens like 18 times in 75 years and only a handful you could argue were bad choices.
I think for the same reason Mack won’t win the Hart even though without him the Sharks win like 25 or 27 games max? And they’re in the same position we are in terms of playoff positioning essentially.
It’s the point scorer award. Not who, without them, is the worse team.
Imagine if Mack had Draisaitl? Makar? Vasy in net? Guentzel and Hagel? Will Smith isn’t a scrub but he’s at 22G and 54pt.
I’m trying not to be biased, but I think Mo redefines what it means to be a true two-way, all-around defenseman. And he and Gibby have erased a lot of mistakes from our bottom 6 specifically.
