I mean, I’ll jump on any hate train at this point, DONT RE-SIGN Kane!
Yes it was a stupid penalty but he isn’t the reason we suck 5v5 and can’t score goals. Our bottom 6 generate no offense and our top 6 forcheck is terrible.
We wouldn’t have made the playoffs had he not taken that penalty.
Maybe Talbot shouldn’t let five goals in on 19 shots… then Kane taking a stupid penalty won’t cost the team a game
hope he resigns with us. Chiarot being reigned though, that’s criminal
This is a joke, Kane has his deficiencies but it’s the lack of impact from the other forwards thats forcing this. He’s 37 and shouldn’t be playing top 6 5 on 5 but he’s been on the most consistent offensive line. He should be playing 3rd line minutes and power play, not having to be out against the other teams top lines. Kasper or MBN or Danielson (I leave Finnie out because it’s remarkable what he’s doing as a 7th round rookie) should have been taking that role and providing offence and forechecking. Basically he’s being asked to do too much and it shows
After that penalty I’m fine with him walking lol that was FUCKED
Damn yall really not letting that penalty go huh? Yea it fucking sucked and dumb as hell, but dude is still a better player than most our roster and a great playmaker. I would still love if he played for us as long as he can, idgaf!
I was not a fan of bringing Kane in (fuck the Blackhawks) and it seemed like he really impacted the lockeroom in a bad way when he first got to Detroit. But its hard to say if they’re better or worse without him. I’ve come around to cheering for him, and he’s had some game winners, but I’m not 100% on him.
That penalty isn’t a penalty 95% of the time though, it sucked but they whack each others legs all the time and this was just unfortunate. I don’t know, sign him, don’t sign him, I really don’t care
Kane fills an increasingly awkward role; he’s a top 6 player type his whole career but he’s in decline and too specialist/small physically for a checking role if he can’t keep up with teams second lines anymore.
There’s an argument for keeping him for his skills on the PP and 3v3 overtime, experience etc… but let’s be real: IF we ever make the playoffs he’s getting hurt immediately or rendered useless by physical playoff hockey.
Yeah don’t resign our 5th best scorer
we have 5-10 less wins this season without him, idiotic take.
This place is so flappable
For the money, in my opinion Kane is doing great. I’m not sure he will sign with the Wings this summer.
This isn’t surprising – it’s obvious he doesn’t play up to his current role on the team. He needs to be a sheltered 3rd line forward with 2nd PP time. He cannot sustain offense and is a black hole defensively, but with more time and space he can be effective. He’s a great finisher but also tends to force the offense into one and done chances rather than sustainable pressure.
This is partially on him but also on management for not filling the top lines effectively.
Loved it when it happened and lived long enough to become a villain. His play is that of an older vet this year, nothing better than who he has been
Lmfao Jesus christ. Focus on the real problems in our lineup.
I can’t wait until Kane leaves/retires so you all can cry about how bad we are when no one on this team can replace his 50 points a season. It’s not his fault he has to play a top 6 role on this roster full of mostly bums. Dude does what he can at 37 after surgery filling a role he’s not supposed to be playing and he’s complained about nonstop every game thread despite being one of our best players down the « choke » stretch here recently.
Tied the game then made a really bad decision. It sucks but, in the last several games of “suck”, he’s been arguably one of our best offensive players/playmakers. Would love to see him on the team again next season.
Kane will prove you wrong like Hossa proved everyone wrong whether he does it with Detroit or Another team after Detroit he will prove why hes the best player born in America.
