i think kane just tried to give him a love tap and then his stick blade got caught up behind quinns knee or whatever and ended up tripping him up, i dont think kane even meant to do that at all, but that sucked, worst timing ever.

Everybody loves to play on a winning team, and nobody wants to play on a loosing team.
Yzerman is a fraud. If he hadn’t inherited Stamkos and Hedman, he wouldn’t have been successful in TB. Not walking into two young HOF’ers has exposed how bad Yzerman is at his job.
It’s time to make some serious moves… Mo seider is the only one who is safe. That’s it. Everyone else is up for grabs. Including the guy with the C on his jersey
Larkin is a loser, tries harder in the all star games than he does in a playoff chase and gets hurt seemingly every year. He always sounds lethargic in interviews and doesn’t seem to care. Not all his fault , the Wings bottom six is possibly the worst in hockey, but he still doesn’t deserve to wear the C. Seider or Debrincat should be captain. Yzerman will never EVER get fired because he’s a Detroit legend and Illitch doesn’t have the balls to do it.
Pain. Pain is what’s going on. I have never seen a team I’ve cheered to put themselves in a position to do well and then dramatically fall flat on their faces so many times. It’s exhausting.
Wings fans are deflated.
You can talk about Yzerman’s choices, you can talk about Gibson stealing games, reality this is completely on the current players.
They been losing key moments either due to talent which is hard for them to acquire and they don’t compete.
Major changes needed on or off the ice for it to get better. Only way.

Detroit fan here(post columbus loss). Finding a miraculous way to lose is accurate. Whenever the opponent empties their net I am legit scared, AND WeRe LeADiNg. Same story against columbus. The boys have a ton of fight but half the finish. Watch tho, they're gonna run the next 4 and make it interesting. Thats Detroit hockey baby.. btw how's the leafs?
I'm not a Detroit fan-im a Colorado fan. But as talented as he is-Steve calling Raymond underrated has my Red Wing fan friends besides themselves. Dude has basically been a ghost since the Olympic break. And arguably their biggest issue in a sea full of them since February or so. Now is not the time to tell Wing fans how underrated he is in the moment. Only way they'd hate you more is probably if ya said Rasmussen is underrated or a gritty dude-lol.
Kane shhhhing the buffalo crowd and then us losing the next game like dude we beat buffalo you scored an empty netter… means nothing. Eyes are not set on playoffs it’s one game at a time for them

The Red Wings had the chance to trade Larkin for 2 1st round picks and Xhekaj. They should have taken the deal. Detroit needs a massive kick in the pants.
I'll tell you the problem in Detroit: Ownership gave a mediocre white man with a famous name way too long of a leash to run the team, in part because of his cult like fanbase that defends him on everything, he never meaningfully helped the team take the next step, and now the team is in no man's land with not a lot of help on the way.
The time to fire Yzerman was 2-3 years ago, the second best time is after this season if they don't win a playoff series. I don't even think making it is enough. You gotta win at least one round, probably more, otherwise you need to shake up the front office. You don't want to end up the Red Leafs.
43 games this year detroit didn't score 1 single goal in the first period. That is almost unbelievable. There better be some huge changes next year, if they run it back with the same team it's a joke

This doesn't really explain the March collapse, but I've noticed the last few years where Larkin gets crosschecked in the back, misses a few weeks, and the team completely falls apart during that stretch. I know you're not gonna play as well without your star players, but you shouldn't be completely lost without them.
At the risk of sounding too down in the Wings, the truth is that great goaltending (Gibson in particular) artificially kept the Wings high in the standings for most of the year. They won many games where they had been dominated and had no business winning. They were/are outshot virtually every game. Even when they were sitting in first back in late January their goal differential was hovering around even, which was a big red flag and stuck out like a sore thumb to me. The Olympic break didn't help, although they were starting to slide right before that, and March has been abysmal as usual. They're 8-13-4 in their last 25 games and seem to be getting worse and finding new ways to lose. They had a big game last night against Columbus who they're battling for the final playoff spot, were up 3-2, then Columbus tied it with 16 seconds left, and won in a shootout. That was a huge missed chance, but pretty much how every big "must win" game has gone for them.
I think Yzermen needs to reset the rebuild try trade Larkin or Debrincat for top 8 draft pick next couple years
