Edit : mdr, je n’essaie pas de dire que nous sommes meilleurs que le Pacifique, je dis juste que si les séries éliminatoires étaient basées uniquement sur le classement de la ligue comme avant, ça craint que nous y soyons mais nous ne le sommes pas.

Imagine how many more times we’d have squeaked into the playoffs if we weren’t in the metro. God, wish we had a cakewalk division.
Even if we get bounced first round, I just want playoff hockey!
It’s fun to laugh at the Pacific, but if we took care of business when playing them we wouldn’t be in this situation…7-7-2 against them… Including being swept by Vegas, choking a 3-1 lead against the Oilers, getting swept by the sharks with last week’s choke job, giving away winnable games late against the Kings and Ducks. And to cap it off we even managed to lose to Calgary and Vancouver.

I think you guys are going to make yourself nuts with these comparisons. We’ve played 78 games and won half – That’s a bubble team almost every year. The pacific division being a « pillow fight » has nothing to do with us and judging from our play against the west I don’t know if we’d be in a better position if we’d played the whole season in a western division.
I’m more grumpy at the dozen winnable games we turned into losses compared to the one, last night, where we turned an L into a W. Hold just three of those leads and we’re in a comfortable playoff spot right now.
Usually I would be annoyed by this but they lost 7 of 8. They controlled their own destiny and blew it and we can complain all we want about it but it won’t change a thing.
Good thing that things like this don’t happen in other sports like baseball. That would be like the tribe winning the AL Comedy Central with less than 90 wins
I disagree with this argument. If we are so much better than the Pacific we should have a better record against them (especially in recent games) and be in the playoffs right now.
This happens in every pro league every year. It’s really not a huge deal. If you win your division. You deserve a playoff spot
