No who's not in playoffs AGAIN? The Wings, the Redwings are so out of it it isn't funny.
In a lot of ways, the Sabres were adopted by the fans in Hamilton Ont and Niagara because a) Buffalo is about the same distance away in QEW traffic as Toronto and b) Hamilton feels they've been screwed out of a NHL franchise for years by the Maple Leafs. I don't know what it is like now, but for years a larger percentage of fans at Sabre games were from across the border. Probably tougher now to get in.

I got hooked on the Sabres as a kid when they were in the finals… against the Flyers. They were so good back in the late 70's and 80 looked like their year.. until the rise of the Islanders.. So many great years back then. Funny how they fall off after I move away.
Sabres fan since ‘86 here, first memory of them is Perrault scoring his 500th goal. I think if they get used quickly to the higher intensity of the playoffs, they could make quite a run. If they don’t they will lose in the 1st round.
Sabres were top 15 in the league in attendance literally every season pre 2019. Post 2019 the team cut team staff, imposed an artificial cap (they deny this), the product was bad, the concessions were bad. Zero effort with fans
Buffalo had 3 wins when the gm was fired and they just kept going, i have a feeling that change had very little close to nothing with buffalo making the playoff but who knows

The goathead got that nickname precisely because fans hated it. Same for the slug. The goathead gained its following because the team won a lot while wearing it and then there was the drought and now it has nostalgia working for it on top of the team winning again while wearing it. That poor slug will never see a resurgence. Lived history. Everyone here has hopes. No one here has expectations. Never had a cup, never had a Super Bowl win. If we get one expect to hear the celebration on the far side of the planet.

Love this Buffalo team and I’m a habs fan. Hope Montreal wins of course but buffalo is a fun team to watch. Buffalo is such a weird team tho, wouldn’t shock me if they miss next year because that’s just Buffalo. Fans also need to turn out and support now. Makes playing so much fun.

I’m GREATLY disappointed by my NJ Devils losing what should have been a great season due to injury.
BUT I can honestly say I’m happy to see Buffalo do so well. In recent years I’ve rooted for FLA during the post season since I live in Florida, but this year I will be cheering on the Sabres!
I hope they get a few series wins and get back to winning consistently
