@Bruins de Boston

1. My biggest take-away was that Geekie is back. Go Geekie…Go Bruins! Great show again Court!!!! I don't think throwing Hagens in there will make a huge difference as this point but it would be fun to see.

  2. Can’t wait for all the old heads that think you need to be at least 200lb to even make the nhl start spewing garbage
    Everyone ignores Point when he’s 5’11 177lb
Sometimes you gotta run before you can walk

  3. Bring him in. Win or lose.. Would be a nice ribbon at the end of the season. Get hyped even if it just for a round.

  4. It's not like he's on fire in Providence. And wasting the first year of his ECL would be the dumbest move ever!!!!!!

  5. Players are mentally tired it's been a long grueling season of punching above their weight class, it's hard to imagine going far in the play offs.

  6. YES !!!! Inject some youth ahead of the playoffs. Providence just has to accept they are a farm team for the Bruins and when the Bruins need players, they take them no matter providence's situation.
All meaningless anyway unless our defense can find a way to play like they are capable….or are they capable? We can score and we can really compete 5v5…what we cant afford are the dumb penalties and the horrible defense we are putting on the ice right now. You CAN"T just flip the puck out to center ice all the time and expect good results. They need to make some plays. That Peeke, even when open, just flips the puck out to neutral ice. We need to make plays and keep the damn puck more.

  7. I’ve been talking about Kuraly for months he’s too slow and seems like he never gets the puck out on penalty killing always on the backhand or fans on the clearing . Plus his offence is unwatchable never in the right place and that’s why the 4th line never scores anymore plus he’s always the last one of that line to change then he ends up with the puck as lines are trying to change please sit him out .

  8. Come on is the kid going to make McAvoy stop getting caught out of position, Zadorov not passing the puck to the other team in the defense end, Pasta laying down kicking his feet like a little child when he doesn’t get a border line call his way, I don’t think so.

  9. Yes, you need an executioner. It is the most effective way of thwarting adversaries from furthering their pursuit of overcoming you.

  10. Ooof, I don’t know. I really don’t want him rushed. It’s a massive ask to yank the kid and toss him in to play with one of the best players in the world and have the pressure to perform. So, where to slot him? He’s not 1st line duty ready yet, 2nd line is untouchable, and I doubt Hagens is a reliable shut down C at the NHL level. It just doesn’t make much sense to me.

  11. Totally agree Hagens Is playing ahead of his lines & needs NHL experience before off- season training.
I'm thinking they'll bring him up after we clinch postseason ticket and for playoffs when they have two weeks to work with him.

Holding him back also makes B's a bit more unpredictable to opponents. Same trick Habs used in 2020 Post season. But that was by accident with COVID quarantines and injuries coming back. They didn't know what their playoff team looked like until 10 days before playoffs. And they totally used it to their advantage.

    Hoping for Buffalo match up.
Habs will roll over B's. Sturm has never coached nhl playoffs. First time NHL bench boss, MSL & young Habs got a taste of playoffs last season ahead of rebuild schedule. They know what they're doing now schooled by ovechkin and Wilson

They've always been able to score but now they have a defense, Dobes 🔥. Dobson and Hutson are doing their thing. We don't want to go there.

Sabres have not been to postseason for a while. They'll have learning curves and agree with Kasey that Bruins can figure out Buffalo's goalie and D

B's need to employ a tandem goalie system post season. Korpisalo is at his best as a playoff goalie.

especially if they end up vs Canes. Not a great place to get Sway "experience" right before playoffs. He does not do well in that LOUD arena. Not an insult.
I disagree with that decision. Now he's less confident. It's the second time he's been pulled out of a game in Carolina in the past 2 years.
    These guys are human also.

Yes Jeremy is playing beyond expectations. But so is the entire team. In stretches.
If we have to squint that hard to see a great goalie? Gotta think about that. No one was willing to squint for Joonas.

No, goalies can't make mistakes, been saying that forever- why they're development is fragile and Jeremy should've spent a season in the AHL. Not 14 games. same applies to young defensemen.
    Like Lohrei.

But it is what it is.

    Sororkin Vezina.
    Islanders don't deserve him.

    Great podcast.

    Never say die!

  12. Court, thanks for another excellent podcast. I humbly admit I had never seen any of Kasey's work before today. You can be assured I will follow her in the future! Incredibly knowledgeable of the sport I love the most. Thank you Kasey for coming on the show.

  13. I don't know, they scored 5 goals last night and Geekie got a hatty, so everything's fine now. It's fine. Nothing to see here!

  14. I want him to be at his best, but Elias is just not. When he has a nagging injury, Elias disappears (except for faceoffs); his defense gets lax and he becomes a passenger in the O-Zone. Just about every line scenario you’ve contemplated is in some way trying to give deference to Elias- and you have to because you know he won’t be coming out of the lineup.
I can only hope they bring up both Hagens and Poitras, and at least use Poitras to keep Kuraly rested (he transforms the PK when he’s fresh), and get both guys acclimated to the room and the NHL ice before the playoffs begin.

  15. As much as I want to see hagens I don't want to waist a year of his entry contract on what we all said was going to be a throw away year. I don't think hagens will be able to beat Colorado

  16. I was thinking that if Hagens isn't burning up the AHL, then he should not be brought up yet. You make a good point that he may not have appropriate support in Providence.

Bruins have a superb home record this year. If this keeps up in the playoffs, then all they have to do is win one road game to close out a series. Just one out of four.

  17. With 3 days off and playing at home it would be a perfect time. One question does this mean he can't go back to Providence? Be a shame to miss out on what maybe a long playoff run with Providence if Bruins got eliminated or decided it wasn't working before the playoffs

  18. Why is it you smucks always think that a 18 year old kid can step into an NHL playoff race and somehow be the answer . He's not Cellebrini, he's not Dustin Brown . He hasn't even really done shit in Providence. Yet he's your answer . Gmab !
