happening a lot – i’ve had 2 calls this week trying to sell seasons tickets/game packs.
DepressionMakesJerks
The team broke Clay 😔
bfloblizzard
« He will not not renew » So adamant he’s doing it twice.
chente08
Makes sense. Nobody should renew it until the mafia owner sells the team

went to one game this year, had a good time, but regret contributing a cent to this ownership group
thegurrkha
I don’t have Twitter. I have no idea who this guy is. Anyone able to explain? He a « famous » STH?
yupkime
A lot of people still attending games more to watch the other team and their superstars.
Skipbrunch
I got my ST as a business investment to give to customers and they were actively being turned down this year.EVERY SINGLE NIGHT costs over $100 because of concessions and dinner.
When they initially killed The Larchieder group, games got less fun, which was such a stupid thing to do.
I do okay financially and I can’t even afford to go to most games.
I get I am only a small business owner, but there is a reason I don’t price gouge my customers when the economy sinks. It would likely increase profit over the short term, but I realize they would eventually have negative feelings towards my business and eventually move on. This concept is not exactly rocket science. It’s the Vegas Effect. Yes you can price gouge people on their first visit, but overtime they will just stop going all-together.
supfiend
Most people I know aren’t renewing for good reason, why buy season tickets for more expensive then there are the day of it doesn’t make much sense. I got lower bowl for 40 dollars the other day some season ticket holder probably paid 200 for those lol
TSE_Jazz
Damn, knowing him personally he’s generally a very upbeat guy. This team is something special
dr_van_nostren
It’s kind of only logical. I mean I’d love to renew cuz I wanna see them rebuild. But I just can’t justify the price.
At the Utah game they showed a guy who was a 57 year STM. He was like 85 years old. That’s incredible. I wish I had the funds to just not really care. The tickets are basically worthless on the open market now. If I knew 4 other people willing to split season tickets 5 ways I probably would keep them. Cuz I still like going to games. But it’s just so damn expensive.
The_Cozy_Burrito
Imagine pissing off someone as kind as clay and also the hockey guy lol

As a Canucks fan who remembers the team back in the late 90s none of this is a shock to me, there were many nights when GM place has 25-50% empty. It just isn’t an enjoyable experience to watch a bad team get cratered regularly. A couple of years ago I went to some games in San Jose and it was the same thing where the stadium was at least half empty. The sound was artificially pumped in. I got relatively cheap tickets based on face value, but more than that, it wasn’t fun to be at the game. I couldn’t imagine doing that 41 times per year, especially factoring in the cost of food/beverages/parking.
Solar-Soldier-7914
It’s cheaper to attend single games through student rush program. I attended 3 games average about $70 a ticket. I will gladly pay $70 for NHL caibre hockey even if my team is bad.
Ministerofgoons
Not surprised. It’s one thing to rebuild (which I’m in favour of), but it’s another thing to rebuild, put a terrible product on the ice, and increase season tickets. This is not even mentioning the consistent cost increases to concession. Also not that I’m a STH so I don’t know for a fact, but I thought the organization forbade STH’s from selling their tickets for « hot » games. If people used to subsidize their STs by selling when the Habs or Leafs came to town then it’s become even harder to make the finances work.

He was the easiest Canucks fan to please I’ve ever seen.

Oh no.. oh well..
niht_awl
We might as well sell the team 🤷🏻♂️
DiamondDash2k
My friend had tickets for half a decade and even in the previous era. Lower bowl.
He cancelled. He was already choked this past year with the increase in price which was steep
Jealous_Difference44
I consider myself a pretty deep Canucks fan and I have no clue who this is. Always another level
PChopSammies
Cancelled 4 season tix in the club section. Been at it since the 90s.
The problem is not the team, its management making terrible decisions, not being honest with the fans, and raising prices on a failing product.
It’s already a lot of money and I can barely give tickets away right now. So it’s time to figure something else out. Team management does not care about me as a season ticket holder so why should I give them MORE money?
For the same price I can get seasons to the Lions, Giants, Goldeneyes, and Abby Canucks an still have money left over. And maybe my customers will appreciate the variety.
freshlyclicked
Let’s be clear, this isn’t because this fanbase can’t stomach a rebuild. This is because we can’t stomach how we got here, how it’s been communicated, and how this organization has been run for years.
The players are always worth supporting. This ownership group is not.
A good sports team owner recognizes that the team belongs to the fans. They are serving the community and city and media. If they do that well, they win on and off the ice.
But if you control the product and limit access and communication, you lose on and off the ice.
And you start losing fans from one of the most passionate fanbases in the league. That is hard to do but they’re pulling it off.
And they’re getting exactly what they deserve.
WhenInAaronRome
Disclaimer : I’m not a fan of this ownership group, and I wish they would sell the team to someone else.
Having said that, people not buying tickets is precisely why the ownership will always try and scrape into the playoffs and avoid doing a proper rebuild.
Now that we are committed to a rebuild, I pray to God that we don’t take shortcuts and abandon the long term view just to salvage the attendance.
This is not a commentary on Clay or anyone else not buying tickets. Just don’t think we should be encouraging people to take a stand now, that we have finally said we’re going to rebuild properly 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

He cranked the siren at a game I was at a few years back. I was also able to give him a high five while he was wheeling around the building with his leg propped..

Known Clay since I was 12 years old… dude gives hope in the community of fans despite an organization that looks to that same community as dollar figures and nothing more.
blackorchid_x
Truly dark times now.

Good on Clay and all the rest of those who’ve made a choice to say no thanks this year. The only thing baby king Francesco and his family understand is money. Let’s all boycott spending money on the team in hopes that they sell it.
eliaspeepeeson
Don’t blame him. I usually go to a game ever year (have to travel and closest team to me) and this year and going forward I probably will stop. This team is a fucking joke. Shit owners, shit management, shit players.
vancityrocker
I’ve been a fan through thick and thin since the 80s.
Ive stopped watching and caring. It’s one thing when there’s effort and hope, but this time under this ownership group is giving no incentive to support them anymore.
Ubervak
Maybe the Aquagoonies will sell 🤞

We have cancelled our tickets this year. Will be the first time in 30 years that my company doesn’t have them. We used to have 8 seats, then 6 and now 0. Raising ticket prices while being a joke of a team for 15 years. Also making us buy pre season and playoff tickets every year is a joke and just a money grab imo. Sell the team and give us some hope. I’m ok with missing the playoffs if I believe in the plan and the group. Linden was right 12 years ago and we didn’t believe him. Sad day.
TouchOk6443
They are by far the worst team in the league, yet raising prices… again. Ownership/management is tone deaf, time to boycott the team until they stop raking fans over the coals.
Prudent_Ad4076
The team is ass and plays like ass. Treats employees and fans like ass. If I was gay, I’d still be uninterested.
Rose-wood21
I feel like I’m the only one who’s had a bad experience with him lol glad to hear he’s nice
