  1. I blame the caps organization for showing they don’t care about their vets and they did Carlson dirty! When Ovi saw that he said Nah if I leave it’s on my terms not theirs! 👏😢

  2. I am just one persons opinion. To me OV doesn't look like he wants to retire. If he does retire, then he kept a poker face hard to read. From Ted ego stance, he would want to have the last home game of the season to have a huge presentation of OV retiring. I don't foresee that being kept a secret in the last home game of this season against the Pens.

  3. Who cares? No one. People who really know the stats will say that all those power play goals stem from the fact that the NHL changed the rules in 2005, favoring players like Alex Ovechkin. What Ovechkin has done in the playoffs is a clear reminder that he is not the greatest goal scorer in NHL history, that title belongs to Wayne Gretzky. If it was so easy in the playoffs, Ovechkin would have 10 Stanley Cups, he has but one. His team was outstanding for years and years, and yet only one Cup. It is primarily his fault because he was unable to deliver playoff performances like Wayne Gretzky when the Capitals needed him most. One Cup is nothing for how good the Capitals were in the regular season. It's a team game, but Ovechkin was their main star back then, like today too. Gretzky almost never wavered. Whether it was the Canadiens (yeah the weak Habs, too) that beat the Capitals or the powerhouse Penguins that did it more than once (and without home ice advantage), it mattered not. Many opposing teams had Ovechkin's number in the playoffs.

  4. My guess this will not be his final season because NHL/Capitals didn’t not take advantage to monetize it yet , I would assume once the decision on the final session is made then every game will be marketed as the final game countdown to get more $$$ out of the final season

  5. I've been a caps fan since 1995 and as much as I love Ovi and everything he's done for Washington, I would always rather see legends ride off into the sunset at the top instead of not knowing when to let go. Too many make the mistake of staying too long. I hope Alex enjoys his summer with his family regardless of his decision.

  6. Give him one more year to beat Gretzky one thousand and sixteen career goals that includes playoffs goals as for Gretzky playoffs goals it would have to be someone else to beat Gretzky playoffs goals over one hundred odd goals Ovechkin has forty odd playoffs goals he needs 12 to 18 goals to beat Gretzky one thousand and sixteen career goals let him play one more year if it was not for the lockouts Ovechkin would have over one thousand and twenty or thirty goals total career

  7. watching Capitals in 2008 Playoffs and 2025 Canadians and it snowing in Saskatchewan and Holtby winning seeing the Stanley Cup as a Eagle.

  8. The GR8 missed almost 2 full seasons, (Rookie year 2004) to a strike, (2012 in his prime) to a lockout, (2020) Plandemic, Ovi would have over a 1000 goals easily by now! The GOAT.

  9. Just let him sit the bench and only go out for power plays until 1k for all I care…life long Caps fan and I would sacrifice a whole season just to get him to 1k because no one deserves it more than him!
