Anyone see the Canadian media celebrating Crosby back in the playoffs?? they wanted so badly to see him back in the playoffs.. figured there would be celebrations everywhere in the north.
Is there anything to the chemistry with Stu and Silovs and the team wanting to score for them, vs Murashov that they dont really know?

If Karlsson and Dewar each score one more goal we will have 11 players with 15 goals or more. From what I can tell that’s a team record!

Girard has been very good for the last 4 games. Skating has picked up. The one that hasn't fit in is Clifton, solovyov should replace him for a while.
Good morning DK, so Girard plays his 9 seasons with 1 organization, has learned 1 style of play since he was 19, doesn't get the ice time he would on another team because who he's behind in that 1 organization, and then he gets traded to a team with a whole new system defensively, he's know for offensive abilities while being on the smaller size so hitting and clearly other players won't be his strength, and he's given the worst defenseman on the new team to play with who also happens, at least at one time, an offensive defenseman, this partner is known to rarely get the puck through from the point and then fight for it usually causing 2 on 1 against so Girard is now playing defense against more 2 on 1 than he's ever seen in his career combined, it's going to take him time yes, and as many have praised his play as of late, vs Panthers he saved a goal, skated through the neutral zone into and through a couple Panthers, went wide and behind the net to set up a gorgeous goal, his confidence is coming around, and it's just too bad he wasn't playing with a defenseman. Did you watch the two games vs the Panthers? Your take on Girard has been the equivalent to your take on Silvos from the get go except in Silvos case you're correct, whereas as Girard you haven't been Dèjan. Ie 56%-48.9% ok…..he's playing with Letang for crying out load!?!? I really do hope in time he's used correctly because we may just have a real nice defenseman who could be a 50+ point guy who plays the PP and can skate well. Blessings, Victor 🙏
My neighbor, who got one of Max Talbot's jerseys off his back, would always say, " I'm no expert, but … ." That's why I listen to you Dejan, I'm no expert. I don't want the team to let off the gas. If Stu is not ready for the B2B this weekend, by all means let Morozov play. Otherwise, what good would one game do? If he is to be the backup instead of Artur, he should have been here for the past 3 weeks.
Yes, playoff goaltending on either side may make or break us. The promising hope is that we have smoked some good goalies. I am also scared that we have laid some goose eggs too. I don't want an announcer saying the opposing goalie has been standing on his head.
The funny thing about all this hype around Murashov is that the season he is having in the AHL … his best so far … (35 GP, 2.13 GAA, .922 sv%) mirrors that of Tristan Jarry in the AHL in 2016-17 (45 GP, 2.15 GAA, .925 sv%) … also Jarry's best AHL season.
For new hockey fans, PLEASE get to a live game. You will understand the game much better once you see the speed at which these pros skate. Even HDTV, although it's a vast improvement, cannot come close to the excitement of a live game in an arena!
It looks like to me Gerard was playing better in the last four games. I even thought him and Letang were playing better as a pair. But maybe that's just me…

I don't see it. Girard looks pretty good to me. I get that he is trying to fit into a new system. But I see a great defensive skater who covers a ton of ice and is great a getting control of the puck and turning it into possession.
One thing I can say is that (especially in the playoffs) you need a goalie who can eat pucks ..That would not be Shilovs. he's a rebound machine who doesnt see pucks and doesnt move pucks well. I dont get why people are high on this guy. Oh….and I think that is unfortunate that they got rid of Kulak..I reallize he isnt nearly as flashy as Girard, but we already have lots of flash on this team…we need more Kulaks who can actually play D..protect and move the puck. The Pens have only one good D line for the playoffs, and that aint gonna work. ooops, that was 2 things, Oh wait..there is more….Girard is popular there beceuse he was on their team and he is flashy..this sort of homer stuff happens w. the Pens and all other teams as well. Perhaps Kingersky was referencing what the hockey insiders there are saying.
Are we still not going to address that one of the reason Girard isn't as good is Letang. That's also the reason he has had so many partners. Letang just doesn't have it this season. He looks done…

Who was the last big time D man that came into Pitt and did well immediately? Im not talking suprises who come into elevated roles that go from out of the lineup to a real spot with us, I'm talking about established players (like Sam) who did not take the majority of the season to hit full speed? Stop this madness of singling out players. Its infuriating. Karl took 2 years and a coach swap and suddenly hes looking like an elite D man that can score 100 points. I do not and will never understand what it is that makes you single out players as some greater reason for lack of success. Sam hasn't looked horrible, and Soloviov did at times. Im not sure where you're getting he was an ace up the sleeve. He was not, by any means. It really seems like the eye test and first impression is SOELY what you go off of, and im not sure what makes you different than anyone else in the stands at that point.
So is this how bad our goaltending is Skinner gets injured by a puck while sitting on the bench isn't his job to see pucks being shot at him for 3 plus periods a game…. could this be a sign why we're so bad at shootouts 🤣🤣
Was Solovyov not an adequate enough partner for Girard. At the expense of dressing Clifton unfortunately and bumping Shea up with Letang, that pairing makes the most sense given they were teammates in Denver. Also feel like Ilya would be a solid anchor to free up Sam to play his true game and hopefully find his groove heading into the playoffs.

The player I want to face least in the playoffs in the East is, for me, Kucherov. He's a one-man wrecking crew.
I agree I talked shit about him but he hasn't been here long but come playoffs and late in the season isn't the time to give em a shit ton of alot of ice time either
