bowman drafted both dachs, dickinson was acquired by davidson. davidson is bowman's protege.

Disclaimer – I'm a Hawks fan. These are the seperate things the Oilers got in the deal, and how I'd value them: Dickinson (2rd), Dach (3rd), Salary Retention (3rd), taking 1.3 years of Mangiapane (2nd). By my valuation, I don't think that a 1st is unreasonable for that package. The parts that's terrible for Oilers fans is that almost all of that was entirely self inflicted. Match Holloway/Broberg and no need for Murphy/Dickinson. Don't give Mangiapane a multi-year deal, no need to pay someone to take that contract.
This just reminded me of the "Behind the B" when Chia was told that Horton was signing elsewhere, and Benning did the face-palm. Someone on the Canucks watched that and decided to trust Benning with their billion dollar franchise.

This did remind me of that scene in moneyball where they are talking absolute crap about players, ugly girlfriends and confidence, blah blah blah.
However, to be fair. The trades with the Blackhawks worked out great for us. Bowman has done well in stacking the AHL. Mostly good trades, Frederick has a 50/50 to pan out id bet. Just the Jarry trade that is baaaaaaad.
Oilers fan here – not a huge Bowman fan but I have no problem with this. Dach has been great for us and Dickenson fills a role.
Whats controversial about this? Nothing to see here.
The level of analysis is the same as on this podcast, let’s be real. All the discussion on here is “this player is so good,” or “he scores a lot of points.”

I get what you're saying, but I don't mind the moves that Bowman made with the Hawks at all. Murphy, Dickinson, and Dach are good additions.
The not his brother bit boys. They are referring to Kirby Dach having a bit of a glass body reputation which he's still trying to shake. Colton does not come with that baggage.
