My preferences in the following order:
1. Washington because we all know what happens when the Penguins win this series
2. Columbus so Chinakhov can give them the business in the playoffs.
3. Flyers because fuck em they’re always last to me.
the meme about needing to go through washington for us to win a cup is fun and all but the caps are a much better 5 on 5 team than either the flyers or jackets and i would love to give the flyers the belt

Thank god, Islanders themselves aren’t that scary but Sorokin can steal you a series imp. Would much rather play the Flyers because I don’t think anyone on that team is going to make a drastic difference. Maybe Martone?

For some reason my browser had not updated the standings, but this is the standings as of today. Capitals and Jackets last game is against each other. It’s win or go home for them.
Now we all want Ovi and the Caps to get in, don’t we?

No to the caps. Not based on what I saw this weekend, recognizing the Pens weren’t playing their full roster in either game. Pass on Logan Thompson and the Protas brothers.

Capitals clinch with either a) a win vs CBJ and the Flyers getting 1 or fewer points, or b) an OTL vs CBJ with the Flyers losing both games in regulation
CBJ clinches with a regulation win vs Washington coupled with the Flyers losing both their remaining games in regulation.

I just saw this on ESPN. Crazy how we were back and forth with them for a while and they just died after we had that comeback win over them.
Flyers remaining games are against Carolina and Montreal, which are both tough. The spot is Philly’s to lose, but I just have a feeling it’s gonna be the Caps

Hoping for the caps since I’m from the DMV, all my friends are caps fans so they’re always my default to cheer for after the pens. Would love to see them make the playoffs, but would hate to see them be the reason the pens don’t make it to the second round and I do think they’d be the toughest to beat
It is very strange that we are this late in the season and the Penguins are the only team in the East that is locked into a particular playoff spot. We have been guaranteed Metro-2 and hosting Metro-3 since Thursday.
Meanwhile…
PHI, CBJ, and WAS are fighting for Metro-3.
BUF, MTL, and TB are competing for Atlantic-1, -2, and -3.
BOS and OTT are wild cards but still playing to see who is WC-1 and WC-2.
CAR are Metro-1, but they and BUF are still both in the running for top in the conference and the corresponding favorable WC-2 matchup.
Since we have nothing to play for, we basically took two games off vs WAS. I hope that rest helps when the playoffs start next weekend!
Honestly out of all 3 of those teams I don’t want the flyers. Not because I am invested in the rivalry(it’s not a rivalry if both teams are at the same skill level) but because CBJ deserves some happiness and this might be Ovi’s last season

We certainly didn’t show much against the Capitals. In fact, based on this past weekend, I don’t see that we have a chance in the playoffs. Including the performance on Sunday.
I can never decide on these because any team that makes it in beat the other teams that didn’t, but gun to my head,
1. Columbus
2. Caps
3. Flyers
We have pretty good history against Columbus in the playoffs and they fell off really hard recently.
Caps is purely because it could be Ovi’s last season and it’s just kinda nostalgia, but I want Tom Wilson as far from the playoffs as possible.
Flyers are last because Fuck the Flyers and also they tend to get under our skin better than any other team and really put us off our game.
Idk man, I’m just happy to see Crosby, Malkin, and Karlsson in the playoffs.
