Can we appreciate the Cannucks not fully giving up. Not rolling over on a back to back not automatically giving wins to 2 teams fighting for a play off spot, and also taking down Colorado at the start of last week.

Crazy just two weeks ago the Islanders were fighting the Pens for the 2nd Metro spot. They were up 3-1 halfway through the 2nd period, then the Pens scored 7 unanswered.
Would not want Don Wadell's job this offseason.
On one hand, they just threw away their season in the last 10-15 games by playing absolutely horribly.
On the other hand, they were probably just gassed from going on that 18-game heater that got them into that playoff race position.
I think it all relies on whether he thinks that KJ and Voronkov can return to form. This team was desperately missing a true top-6 or another 1st line forward this season. IMO, if Wadell isn't confident in KJ or Voronkov coming back to form, I would trade one of them plus picks or prospects for Dylan Larkin, assuming Detroit might be willing to trade him.
How do teams rest so many players? You're only allowed 23 players on your active roster.
True hurricanes are a difficult opponent, however none of the three contenders in the Atlantic are a picnic. Could be because of Stanley Cup experience, tb is the most dangerous. Nevertheless, having your vets rested is a significant consideration. So pick your "poison" and bear with the consequences!

Extremely depressing loss for the Ducks, and I will be genuinely inconsolable if we miss that playoffs. We had lots of good chances in this game, but every goalie we come up against plays great while ours doesn't really. Shit puck luck, combined with the team cruising for a period hurts. Also, the reffing was genuinely unbelievably bad, which just hurts even more when combined with the other things. It feels like far too often this season we win on expected goals but don't on the actual scoreboard

Ducks losing to the Canucks 3 times this season frustrated me to no end. I hope we still make the playoffs but next season, I want the Ducks to whoop this team.

13:12 Shannon, regarding the Sens and Bruins, I’m not sure playing Buffalo or Montreal would be much more desirable than playing Carolina. Especially the Sabres. Buffalo is really on a roll, and I’m still not sold on Carolina’s goaltending. (It’s not like the West where avoiding Colorado would be big.)
