Thank you for everything Quickie!

Drafted into the league together. Riding into the sunset together. Happy retirement 11 and 32.

Quick is why I became a Kings fan back around 2009 or so, thought it was funny that a goalie was named Quick. Tuned in to a random Kings vs Blues game and I became a fan, that game was so physical, everyone finished their checks. And if I recall correctly Quick got a shutout.

Quickie and Ryan Miller raised the profile of American goalies. So happy he gets to ride off into the sunset in his terms.

Still bitter about all that happened to Quick. He was an absolute champ of a goalie.

Wish we could sign him for a 1 day contract.

Thank You for making my childhood dream of a Stanley Cup for the Kings a reality, twice. My son got to watch you help with the first of two Cups at age 3 and has been a fan for life, like his dad, since.

Greatest Kings goalie in franchise history!! We love you Quick! We hate Rob Blake for what he did, traded away Quick and a 1st round pick for Korpo and Gavy who we both let walk and didn’t trade for anything in return. Poor management from Blake.

His jersey will be in the rafters

Sucks we wont see that jersey in the rafters.

GOAT. As someone who got into hockey because my first ever hockey game was a Kings game and they wonâŠ. So I decided to just follow the team from then on⊠Quickâs 32 in the black and silver was also my first ever hockey merch. Iâve since outgrown it but he was a significant reason I became a Kings fan especially for an out of towner.

love you forever Quickie!! Youâll always be remembered as a King

How fucked is the Kings management that they signed away this goat of a franchise player for a couple of rentals… Fuck Luc Robetaille forever

Cheers to the 2005 Draft. Cheers to two legends. Man the league won’t be the same
disinaccurate
I remember the 2005 draft. I remember being in college and playing NHL2K5 with Conroy/Frolov/Palffy, and Cechmanek in net. Of course, by that time, the real Kings no longer had Palffy or Cechmanek, but unless you downloaded roster updates, you still had them.
I remember Anze Kopitar getting drafted and being stoked that he made it all the way down to #11, given he was expected by many to go earlier than that.
And I remember down in round 3 when they drafted Quick. Hey, that’s the highest goalie they’ve drafted in quite a while, maybe someone that will compete with Mathieu Garon?
Then I remember them signing Jason LaBarbara after the draft.
Then I remember them drafting Jonathan Bernier in round 1 the next year.
OK then, I thought, probably one of those guys is the team’s goalie of the future, the guy to get this team off the endless conveyor belt of veterans.
Then I remember in December 2008, when Quick got pulled up after Ersberg got hurt, and magic started happening.
For a few more years, we’d hear that it was Bernier who was the future, but really it was all over by then. My college days were over, and so were the dark days of LA Kings goaltender misery.
