No one deserved a cup more than Joe. I hope the leafs honour him with a statue as soon as possible. I hope one day Joe gets to see this team lift the cup

I know it’s super cheesy, but while listening to this I grabbed my signed stick (2016-2017 team) and gave a few stick taps for Bowen.

God damn I am tearing up hard. May this legend enjoy his retirement to the fullest!

Great nostalgic voice. Abhorrent political views and opinions. Nothing of value will be lost. Enjoy retirement Joe, and careful with those anti trans / immigrant retweets!

There goes one of the last remnants of Leafs tradition.
What even are the Leafs anymore, culture, history, I don’t know. But Joe Bowen was my soundtrack on long rides on quiet nights in the pickup truck .
Won’t be the same without you Joe.

Legend. Absolute legend.

This makes me so sentimental… hearing his calls has been one of the most consistent things in my 30 years of life. He reminds me of being a kid and back when things were okay. I’ve gone through some shitty situations throughout life and he’s always been there to bring me back to the good times.
Since my mom passed away a few years ago, he’s been a place of comfort in grief. Hockey was one of our greatest connections and bonds. Sad he never got to make the call about the cup but I still hope it’ll happen in his lifetime still!
Thanking him for the memories and wishing him a relaxing retirement.

44 years and not a single cup win
That’s brutal

Who knew you could cut onions thru the radio. Thanks for all the memories Joe.

Most leafy thing to do would be to win it all next year lol

I had a couple beers with him once at the ACC. This is him. Such an earnest and kind man. Gonna miss him on the call.

The part where he mentioned bringing a radio to the graveyard is something I also thought about. My Dad was the reason I became a Leafs fan. He moved to Canada in 1966, so technically was around for a Cup, but he wasn’t a fully-fledged fan; he never got to enjoy a championship. I hope one day I can share it with him in spirit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe decided to comeback and stream himself casting the games on YouTube

The voice of two whole generation of childhoods. Thank You Joe 💙🤍

Thick and thin. God damn right Joe. I’m not turning on this team. Ever.

It’s very sad to see Bowen retire, this man was part of my childhood. Listening to his calls gives me the chills and it’s been amazing getting a chance to listen to his games growing up. No one represents Leafs Nation like Bowen.

Love ya Joe! hope they bring home Stanley more than once for ya!

He’s been the voice of the Leafs my entire life, whether it was on TV or on the radio. It’s such a shame that they could never win one for the man to be able to call his dream as it happened. I hope that he enjoys retirement, he’s definitely earned it and can hopefully enjoy the Leaf games the way that we do. I’ll always miss hearing your calls Mr. Bowen.
