Have the Canucks ever had the conversation with Petey that Elliotte asked “what can we do to help you get back to where you were before?” I don’t think they have.
Why would you trade him it's not like we will need the cap space in the next few years.
You would think that the Canucks have had multiple conversations with EP40 to see "what can be done to get you back to where you were before" or the entire management and coaching staff should be fired for negligence. I just don't think the EP40 that scored 100+ points will ever come back, at least, not in a Canuck uniform anyway. What is the better question asked maybe whether the team will get back a player that will be serviceable for the remaining time on his massive contract – if he can be a point-per-game player who blocks shots and kills penalties, then even though those contributions would not be worth 11.6 mil a season, I would say the Canucks would still be better off keeping him than trading him away for what most likely would be garbage in return.
I swear Donnie & Dhali would have nothing to talk about if EP40 got traded.
such BS on the excuse for the Canucks, they only had to pivot mid season BECAUSE they are the most poorly run franchise in sports, not just the NHL.
EP40 should be sent to the minors, unless you can get a 4th or 5th round pick without retaining any of his pay.

Yes this ownership always had their guy ready beforehand. And we typically found out after the fact. What makes this time any different? Who's to say they haven't already figured out the next move(s). Ryan Johnson for instance, or Manny etc. Elliotte had no point there.
They need to include Manny Malholtra in discussion with Pettersen. If Manny is indeed the coach for next year. Manny has been good for the Abbotsford canucks and nearly everyone feels he's the next coach
Oilers fan here…. Giving Bouchard the Norris would officially make the Norris a joke. I’ve seen how many gaffes he has. Cale Makar is miles ahead of him and the best defenseman in the world. Bouchard would struggle to crack my top 10

For Petes sake…. EP40 will WAIVE his no trade if just asked. He is the only one that has kept true to his word unlike Tocchet and Hughes.. EP40 should leave for Detroit and he should play on a loaded line. It will just set back Canucks permanently for another 1-2 years. None of the 4-6 million dollar players on the team currently make any difference whatsoever.
EP40 will be a fit on Detroit , Columbus , Carolina , NYI , Ottawa

Elliot's comments on Petterson are total whitewash. He's just spouting hockey media bullshit. "What can we do to get you back to where you were a couple of years ago?" Are you kidding me? The unfortunate truth is that EP40 will NEVER get back to what he used to be. It's OVER and EP40 is done. He will NEVER be better than he is right now. Long-time NHL fans know the reality. But if hockey media people like Elliot Friedman keep pumping out the propaganda that "maybe" a miracle will happen — they are hoping lots of gullible fans will keep buying in to his BS.
Can we just stop with the mediocrity and low expectations in Vancouver? Petey is not a winner, plain and simple. I don’t care if it’s injury, anxiety, the yips, or whatever. It’s been nearly 3 years for him to get his act together and he hasn’t so it’s time to move on. Less excuses and more expectations of delivering results. He hasn’t, so find someone who will.

Nope. I used to travel to the US with friends and family quite often, spending a lot of time and money down south.
I also used to travel to the US quite often whilst I was in the Canadian Army (retired now).
No more. Ever.
Same goes for the purchase of US made products, vehicles, produce, travel, etc. Never, ever again.
And my spouse, teenage sons and extended family on both sides feel the same way.
The US is a failing and toxic state that remains one election away from demagoguery and insanity.
We need to continue to diversify and de-couple from being so dependent on the US. Never, ever again can we allow ourselves to be a position of dependency and risk exposure with respect to the US.
