Joe’s call of when Nikolai Borschevsky scored his Game 7 overtime winner vs the Red Wings in 1993 will stick with me for a lifetime. Still gives me chills to this day.

I feel bad for him the most in all of Leafs Nation. He deserved better than this BS on his last season.

  3. He is my F entire growing up with 3 older brothers!!!!! What a beautiful tribute to him!!!!!!

It’s so fucking unfair; he should have had a better ending than this piss-poor season.

Joe Bowen is my last connection with the Maple Leafs and NHL Hockey that I grew up with. Bob Cole is gone, and now Joe Bowen is retiring. What do I have left? This crap-tacular organization that left us all deflated.

    Joe didn’t deserve this.

  5. Good guy. Sad that this organization is run by buffoons.

Only started following leafs 2-3 years ago and we would specifically sync the match with Joe’s radio. Amazing commentary hands down, he genuinely loves this team. I particularly loved him cause he would always call out the leafs when they played bullshit lol. We’re gonna miss ya! Hope he’s back for a special or something one day ❤️

Also his little hand heart 😭😭 such a cutie!!!

The one constant through all the ups and downs was Joe Bowen. Loved no matter what.

When i was a kid, sometimes Leaf games ould go on past my bedtime. Parents put me to bed but would let me listen to Joe call the 3rd period on the radio as I fell asleep.

One of my coziest childhood memories. Thank you Joe 💙

  11. I’m going to miss this man. I grew up to him on the radio going on roadtrips with my parents.

    Enjoy your retirement, Joe!

  12. Voice of my entire life as a fan. It was such a standing O. It didn’t end. Longest I’ve seen at a game. And even after the game too dude got such an applause from everyone. Dude is the voice of the franchise.

If there was a Hall of Fame of People.

Joe is a unanimous first ballot 100% vote.
