Thanks Joe but did you have to cry like this on air. Keep it together you’re still influential to those small boys / girls watching . Also why didn’t you mention that since 1967 this team has been given the most resources with the most capital behind them and still manage to blow it every year without questions. Me and my dad would take the radio broadcast over the tv anyday just to listen to Joe, it was some of our best quality time.
After my hockey games we would sit in the driveway and continue the game on the radio instead of the TV just to hear Joe's calls,
My favourite memory's growing up had Joe screaming HOLY MACKINAW in the background.

Cheers to a man who should have been the national TV broadcaster for Leafs Hockey. No better color commentator in the last 50 years than Joe. These are big shoes to fill and I hope the Leafs hoist the cup before his last breath. God bless you Bownsie! Deserving that you are also a recipient of the Foster Hewitt award not too long ago. We are also blessed by your passion for this historic team. Please do an interview with @stevedangle . Maybe he could attempt to fill the role you left behind. Maybe continue the #holymackinaw next season.

Thank you for so many childhood memories you gave me and my family to remember forever that voice some of the greatest calls I've ever heard in my life will give me goosebumps forever and will take me back to that little 10yr old kid who fell in love with the game of hockey watching his Maple Leafs in his basement with the best commentator to ever do it. I like to say that last night the Toronto Maple Leaf players certainly gave it a dam good try and made it very interesting for Joe Bowan to call his last home game at Scotia Bank Arens .

There are many reasons I wish for cups as a leafs fan and one that was right up there was to hear Joe Bowen call a Stanley cup for the leafs …so angry at this team right now but I’ve been angry my whole life at them but I don’t want it to dampen the legend that is Joe Bowen ,he was the first voice I heard back in the 70’s as a young leafs fan and was instantly obsessed with the game and the man that talked about it ,Joe Bowen ..god bless you legend ,I love you man !
