Shabanov deserves another chance. And honestly with how mediocre our D corps is in general I wouldn’t mind giving DeAngelo another year or two.
Lee ONLY if he takes a super team friendly deal but in all honesty it’s time to move on.
Right column I’m fine with Palms and Romanov still being here, and I’m rooting for Varly in his Bridgeport stint.
Everyone else I’m indifferent.
Palms Romanov Varly and Gatcomb
Tony D and Gatcomb
Lee, Deangelo, shabby, gatcomb maybe
I would take the top two rows and nothing else.
Lee if its super team friendly. Like 3rd line friendly.
Tony D… as much as that pains me. He had a great season though.
Gatcomb for sure
Palms & Romanov will.be amazing to have back…
Lee 3×3
Tony D 2×2.5
Soucy can fuck off
Rittich only if you can’t find a better backup
Shabanov 2 or 3 years
Gatcomb bye
Boqvist bye
Palmieri and Romy will be back and 100% for camp
Engvall and Varly can enjoy LTIR until their contracts are up
Not including LTIR, Id auto keep Tony, Rittich and Shab. Otherwise Lee if it’s short and cheap. Everyone else so Soucy Boquivst and gatcomb can go
Lee if the money is right, shabs, palms, romy, and Varly
I know nobody wants to hear it but I’d like to see Anders back on a 1 year contract so he can get to 1,000 games played. I think the change is in the long term and 1 season won’t hurt.
Beyond that I don’t care if anyone on this list comes back frankly.
Varly needs to come back for a farewell game
I imagine Lee wants the Pageau extension at least, if that’s the case I say let him walk. 3×3/3.5? I have no problem bringing him back
Gatcomb is a grinder, love his heart and he’s defensively responsible, would love to keep him around.
Tony D is a tough call, not the most defensively responsible, which is something I think the isles really need to focus upon building, but a solid puck mover and can rack up assists.
I’m honestly fine letting Shabby walk, there was all sorts of buzz that the isles were shopping him and he didn’t get a ton of play time. It’s unfortunate but I don’t think he would have much interest in staying here. Not entirely his fault, not entirely the teams fault. Just didn’t work out.
I think Romanov has a year left before his NMC kicks in, maybe see if you can get a decent return for him?
Hoping Palms can come back strong
You’d have to imagine the Isles would be willing to give away some assets to get out of that Engvall deal, but at the same time I don’t hate him as a third line option, contract becomes more stomachable every season with the cap increase, but still not a good contract lol
Everyone else can walk, also assuming Duclair is gone as soon as that NMC becomes a 16 team list
Just romanov. We need major changes. Can’t bring these guys back.
None of these players move any needles
Tony D, Gatcomb, Shabanov(?), Palms and Romy. Varly would be great if he’s back to form
Just Romanov.
But maybe Palmieri if he is 100%
Anders Lee on a four year 3.5m aav contract would be great. Rittich played really well early, but the team just crumbled around him. I wouldn’t mind keeping him on the cheap. MAGA chud and Soucy… I hope they find good opportunities in the future. Give me full seasons of George, Warren, or McWard. Or signa vet that can skate and isn’t prone to uttering slurs. Shabanov, Gatcomb, and Boqvist… have a nice life. Engvall should be traded or released… Varlamov is old and didn’t even play this year… so no hope in that. Romanov is still on a contract we could not get rid of, so he’ll play when he gets back. Palms is fine, but if he got dealt, it wouldn’t bother me.
I like Gatcomb. Come at me bruh 😂
Gatcomb (2 way deal), Palmieri and Romanov. TDA and Lee sign late veteran contracts. Varly probably winds up on LTIR if he can’t handle it during camp and Engvall gets waived in hopes someone picks him up.
Deangelo, Palms and Romanov. Anders is still a great leader for the team but there is no question we need forwards who can move the puck into the zone.
Rittich
Palms, Romanov, DeAngelo.
For me it’s Lee, “it’s not ANders it’s pronounced ONders, I have a hard ON” 🤷🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣
Lee has to be less than $2.5, that’s today caps Benn deal.
– Lee if salary reasonable. DeAngelo same. Rittich is fine.
– Shabanov, Gatcomb
LTIR doesn’t really matter does it? They are either free agents or not. Palmieri’s salary is alright. Romanov we need. Varlamov just needs to retire to the front office already
As a guy walking around with two artificial knees, it would be mind boggling if Varley can make it back. Hope = 10, Confidence = 2. Prove me wrong Varley!
Lee is gone. And if he isn’t, it better be for a pack of gum and belly button lint.
– Lee (may be heart over head) on a 1-2 year deal
– Gatcolm is fine but replaceable
– Palms & Romy back healthy
– Varly I would love to see back to 100% for his own sake but they cannot go into the season without another legit backup goalie
DeAngelo, Shabanov, Palmieri and Romanov.
None of our UFAs. I like Rittich, but not what the cost might incur. Shab/Gatcomb no brainers, they come back. Romanov needs to be here. Everyone else should move to competitive clubs. I don’t hate hanging on to Palms until deadline
Edit: This team needs a serious injection of youth and speed. I know a lot of people here are looking to bring back guys until 37+, but our division isn’t getting younger (Rags, Caps, Pens – all old), and we need to be at the jump to take advantage.
Bring back Lee (depending on the contract) Tony (probably no other NHL team wants him) Shabby Gatacomb
Palmieri, Romanov, Tony D. I like Gatcomb, but he’s replaceable and he probably doesn’t make the team over Eklund and possibly Eiserman. I’m not convinced Varly has anything left in the tank. Engvall resigning was a classic Lou mistake and he’ll have to be bought out. Boqvist and Soucy are absolute dog shit, and Warren and George should have been playing instead of either of these bums all season. Shabanov maybe, but Roy never gave him a chance. Big save Dave had a great first half but Ilya needs a reliable backup. Lee has held up better than I anticipated, but he’s never been fast, his net front presence is not what it was, and he’s usually too late to respond/retaliate as a fighter/enforcer type. It’s time to move on and any contract offer to him is purely sentimental and a sign that the org is not serious about winning.
