I hesitate with this; I hear what you are saying but tbh if I where Cooper I would rest the majority of players. If we lose home ice, so be it. We have really been running vasy into the ground as of late and he isn’t in his 20s anymore. We also have other injury/discomfort concerns on the team. Better to let them rest than throw in our all stars and risk someone getting hurt, if I’m not mistaken Montreal is a gritty team and isn’t opposed to nailing some guy into the boards. Gotta think long term in many ways home ice advantage is a myth

Given our home ice history idk why we even care

Definitely feel like clinching home ice would be important, not because of our opponent but because of the injuries. We don’t have to force our guys to travel and they can rest a bit easier in the comfort of their own homes and our team facilities.
Doubt Coop is gonna play our entire roster, but definitely will play some people that need monkeys off their back. Would also hope that there’s no funny business in this game, considering the Rags have been eliminated for a while now and don’t really have anything to prove.

I understand all the comments about rest and our record at home ….. but ….. getting the 2nd seed means our guys can stay at home and rest for a few more days instead of traveling to Montreal for the weekend….

I think if Montreal loses tonight, we rest everybody tomorrow except Vasy

I don’t think it matters. Both teams have been good on the road this year.
I just want the Lightning team who hates to lose to show up to playoffs. 3 consecutive seasons of sucking in the first round is more than enough.
