Useless trade. Nylander is going on 30 and doesn’t fit our timeline nor do we fit his. He wants to win and compete and so do we yet we are not competitive. Nonsense trade
We do this and i wont be able to afford to see the kraken in Toronto anymore
You do that trade in a heartbeat if it’s more than just a rumor. I don’t understand how people would look at that and say, “it doesn’t fit the timeline, he’s too old.” This is the type of player that will make us competitive.
I mean Willie styles is good. He would be a winger upgrade for sure.
There’s no fucking chance this happens. Like I love the leafs making blunders too but this is hilarious.
They have a down year and they’re going to punt one of their only top end wingers for… two prospects and a couple picks?
Like before you even consider NTC / NMC this seems super generous…
It sure this fits for Toronto. But yes, you take this trade in a heart beat if you’re the Kraken. He would instantly bring some much needed cachet to this club.
> The rumored deal sends William Nylander to Seattle in exchange for highly-touted prospect Jake O’Brien, the signing rights to defenseman Blake Fiddler, a 2026 first-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick (via Winnipeg).
As far as rumors go, this is pretty close to just being pure speculation. The article doesn’t link any credible source for these rumors, just saying they exist. This smells like something these rumors sites are just whipping up on their own.
However, this kind of trade is at least plausible in terms of what each team needs. The Leafs might go for a rebuild/retool following this disaster of a season, in which case moving Nylander for a futures heavy package is logical. The kraken would logically be interested in a player like Nylander and have plenty of futures to make it work from an asset value standpoint.
Of course, Nylander has full no trade protection and would have to waive. Would he for a team that’s been worse than the leafs? If he wants to win – I struggle to see it.
Toronto Doesnt accept that trade imo
His ego is too big for Seattle
Not going to happen, Nylander has a NMC. If he were to waive it, it would be to go to a contender. Not a bottom 5 team that can’t even make the playoffs.
