  1. I hope he stays for 1 year, and that the team can stay healthy. Legend like that should not retire without a final playoff "dance".

  2. I'd like to see Ovi as a player development resource or he team, Hutson under Ovi's wing could be the next record breaker. LUV Ovi and GL tonight at Toronto, Come on 929 & 30.

  3. Completely unfair to do this to the team. Free agency starts 1 July, he needs to let them know before that point. Or, the Caps should move forward assuming he won't come back. Yeah yeah yeah, I get it, he has done a lot for the team and is a special player, but the team and the city has done a lot for him. Hopefully, he retires prior to 1 July so the Caps can move forward knowing what they need to do, making them possibly sacrifice a year would not be cool.

  4. Man…it feels like this is it. He's clearly still a 1st line player if he's leading the team in goals and points as a 40 year old. I think he would come back if there's a strong chance of another Stanley Cup. This year they're terrible, but last year same core was one of the best. They need another star player to make them a cup favorite and I think that would make Ovie come back for one more year.

  5. This year you all have pulled the goalie with him. Not setting the team up for success and trading away key players for a playoff run.
Wouldn't be surprised if he returns but goes to free agency.

  6. Leonsis is a wise man. He keeps Alex past his prime because it’s not just about rebuilds and cups, is also about a franchise history and athletic glory, the pride of one of the games greats wearing no other jersey but that of the Capitals. The NYR management are idiots.

  7. Хочу чтобы Овечкин продолжил карьеру в Вашингтоне и продлил контракт на 3 года

  8. I'm a lifelong Habs fan, but Ovi has been my favorite player forever. Maybe next year he joins The Montreal Canadiens and wins another Stanley Cup!!!!!

  9. Great player great athlete great person but unfortunately his and Sid’s era is coming to the end. But new generation like Selibrini Bedard Hughes is going to replace leaving legends

  10. 42 is a good number. make it 2 years but also confirm this is the final 2 years. he can still contribute to the team. im however afraid as hell now more than ever since the this is so iminent…what will the capitals look like without ovi????

  11. I agree that he’s earned the opportunity to take all the time he needs. I genuinely don’t know what he’s going to do. Whatever it is, like Ted says, will be the right decision.

  12. Я смотрю игры Кэпиталс, только из за Овечкина, его голы,хиты и т.д. Не будет его, пропадёт интерес

  13. Someone tell whoever is in charge of the uniforms to revert back to the 80s uni, they were the best. If not the 3rds they have this year would be great. The primary we have now are over. Oh and BRING BACK HOME WHITES!

  14. As a pens fan there was no team I shat bricks over more than the caps when we played them in the playoffs every time ovi touched the puck I was holding my breath. Dude is a legend and a great person.

  15. Flyers fan, but always loved Ovi. The league will be lesser because he won't be in it. Thanks for the memories, Great 8.
