As someone who went through a miscarriage as the father when my wife was 12 weeks into our second ever pregnancy it is hard mentally on both parents. I took time away from work for a few days to help my wife when it happened. At least for us it was a little easier because we had a son already to fall back on giving our love to and who could provide some comfort.
I wish them all the best in whatever they decide to do. Apparently my grandmother had 3 miscarriages before she got her 3rd successful pregnancy (my dad) so I am glad she decided to keep going with trying for kids otherwise I wouldn’t be here.

I have been lucky enough to have had 3 healthy kids and I just cannot imagine the grief involved in this. No wonder he’s been distracted, they need to just chill and heal.

High-horses in here thinking people should already know everything that’s going on. We judge what we see on the ice. Lack of production is exactly that until we can have our eyes opened to other things.

As a Father who’s experienced this before, Hockey would be the last thing on my mind. My thoughts are with them both, I’ll be rocking my Petey jersey to work for the last game of the season tomorrow.

Miscarriages are brutal. My wife and I had two. And we were going through IVF. We had 5 years of infertility. Thankfully, our last embryo worked and we have a near 3 yr old daughter. I feel for both of them. I’ve thankfully found an outlet with a group of men that we can talk about these things. I hope Petey and Katelyn find the help and support they deserve.
