A stabbing – shooting happened about a half mile from my house last night. Very unusual act for this part of town. Glad I didn’t go to the nearest pizza joint because that’s where it happened. Always hits harder when it’s closer to home.

8-1 blowout against Floridas AHL team, yeah i think its safe to say Todd has lost the room. Question now is if he will get it back.

I’m still absolutely floored by that game last night. I don’t get upset about sports generally but that felt like they made a choice to lose horrendously, and that feels so disrespectful to the fans.

To Ken and Mick’s point, they did make us smile.

  6. The chaos agent in me says trade Larkin for Werenski 1 for 1. Culture resets for everyone. Neither team wants that, and I wouldn’t expect it to really do anything, it’s just a funny thought. Did you know Larks and Zach are like, best buddies?

The wings finished sixth in the division this year with 92 points, 7 points less than the east’s WC2.

The oilers, ducks, mammoth, and kings can match or exceed 92 pts with wins tonight, putting to bed the tired and cope filled excuse that we would have made it in if we were in the west, which never was relevant because we’re in the Atlantic division of the eastern conference both for now and for the foreseeable future.

It’s extremely tough for me to see a wings team that finishes higher than 7th in the division next year without some serious surgery, and I don’t believe this front office should have license to make the huge roster moves required to rise among our division rivals.

    Ugh.

End to the season so ass I can’t even celebrate Fanduel’s death

Fitting way to end the season with another implosion and piss poor effort. The reason this team collapses every March is because they are not built to truly play competitive hockey. Not enough top end talent and not enough “grit” to grind out games as the style shifts towards more playoff hockey. Our GM asked for patience when he joined 7 years ago on the rebuild. He got that and more. Now it’s fair to ask what he is going to do to ensure this team doesn’t collapse next year and finally gets back to being a competitive club. If his answer is more of the same then it’s time for him to go. This team was close 3 years ago and then took a step backwards. There can be no more steps back anymore. He’s had more than enough time to turn this around.

Keep believing in Stevie and importantly spend time and money.

I had this crazy nightmare that we were in a playoff position before the olympic break and collapsed in March. That was just a dream right and I should just go back to sleep yeah?

I could accept if they got this far with the opening night rookies (finnie, ASP, and MBN) and Danielson getting significant playing time and sticking all year. I’d be able to say that they came up, worked some games to establish themselves as NHL players and have that year of experience. Instead, the forward lines are filled with aging players, ineffective players, and re-treads.

  13. I work third shift so I couldn’t watch. I ended up watching the recap on the NHL app when I got home to see if it was really as bad as it seemed and holy shit it was so much worse. Then I saw Florida’s scratches:

Dmitry Kulikov, Carter Verhaeghe, Seth Jones, Tomas Nosek, Aaron Ekblad, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Gustav Forsling, Anton Lundell, Uvis Balinskis
