First half of the game, the sharks were the better team. 2nd half it was men vs boys in favor of Chicago. Nice to see some decent work from Misa and Chernyshov in this game, although that empty net miss was hard to watch. Askarov probably should have had one or two of those goals. Sharks can finish no better than 10th last in the standings and a regulation loss vs Winnipeg tomorrow will have them 7th last. We'll see what happens.
Here's an idea, when an offsides occurs the LINESMAN sees it and blows his whistle and play stops. That's what a linesman is supposed to be doing. That's his job. It's not that difficult to do.

Wherls fell apart after Askarov's awful goal that made it 2-1. Their D had been great for 2 periods, then turned to crap after that. Askarov was terrific for 2 periods, then turned to crap. We need an entirely new blueline and Askarov is not ready for the starting role.
2 teams that have 2 star [players in the NHL and need to "get on the horse" and start making some GOOD moves to get them playing on good teams. Sharks are in a better position to be a lot better faster them Hawks. Younger players can chase the money later and may decide to go to teams that can win a Cup when their contracts are up. Look at McDavid. Lot's of money, no Cup 11 years in.
Sharks need to get a new blue line, and find a starting goalie. Askorov is not it, he is a #2 at worst, maybe AHL caliber goalie, definitely not NHL level.
