Not a big fan of that 2nd line, the best our 2nd line has looked(not including Slafs brief stay) was when it was Newhook-Kapanen-Demidov. I’m not thrilled with adding in Texier and just hoping he can find some chemistry at the most important time of the season.

i’d prefer Reinbacher or Engstrom in the lineup. I like both Struble and Xhekaj, but it always feel like a disaster when both are on the ice together.

Bolduc-Kapanen-Dach is the line that gets cut. I would also cut Struble and put Reinbacher in his place though, considering the way Tampa plays to provoke sometimes, I’d understand keeping him in.
In whatever case, take Dach out and put Gally in.
I still think Bolduc will pop off in the playoffs when he finally starts shooting.

Not crazy about the defensive pairings. Nether Matheson or Guhle is very good on their off side and Hutson with Carrier is a very small pairing for playoff hockey. Would much rather Matheson/Carrier, Struble/Hutson, Guhle/Xhekaj. All those pairings have had success in the past.

I’m ready to put Bolduc on the second line instead of Texier just to add some physicality and shot lethality. I know he’s not the best defensively, but having Newhook and his speed at center to backcheck, or have him hang back a little, could give the opportunity for Demi and Bolduc to punch offensively without it being too risky in case of turnovers

Lots of criticisms for a partial lineup 3 days before the game. I may not agree with all his choices, but I’m certainly at the point of trusting the coach with these decisions.

I’m not a fan of Texier on the 2nd line or on the bottom 6.
I think Kapanen on the 2nd line and Gallagher or Veleno in the bottom 6 makes more sense. Texier is the bottom forward IMO. Too soft for playoffs.

Honestly at this point a healthy and hungry Laine might honestly be better than Dach lol. But realistically Gally.
I’d ride out the regular end of season 8 game streak lines but I wouldn’t be afraid to roll out:
Caufield-Suzuki-Texier
Slaf-Newhook-Demidov
Bolduc-Kapanen-Gally
Evans-Danault-Anderson
It spreads the offense between 2 lines since we all know they’re going all shutdown mode on our first line. Slaf line 2 worked with Demi earlier so it’s not out of nowhere.
Then line 3 is heavy effort/forecheck with decent defense, and L4 is pure shutdown. Could even swap Kapy and Evans for better faceoffs coverage. I’d even be tempted to swap Kapy all together for Veleno.

Tex New Demi is interesting, I dont remeber them being so memorable. I figured that we might go for chemistry more than potential. I thought Newhook Kappy and Demidov would end up becoming a bit of a lock. But that said everyone said Kapanen right ‘seat’ is as the 3C so this will be interesting.
I just dont know if Newhook is exactly an upgrade at 2C
I agree on the D pairs, I would replace Struble with Reinbacher personally,
