  1. So we all want the Flames to pick 1/2 (McKenna/Stenvar), but if they don’t, do they go for another defenseman, go for the center Malhotra (Manny’s kid) or a European center?

  2. buttahsmooth

Oh god, that’s a lot of defense. I have a bad feeling about this

  3. kobedziuba

Man after watching the hitmen get dominated, I want the ruck twins so bad .

  4. DaCodster

Some interesting shifts in this ranking. Both Reid and Carels have leapfrogged Verhoeff, with Rudolph climbing up too.

Wouldn’t say no to Carson Carels if we can’t get McKenna or Stenberg.

  5. If we aren’t getting the Gavin/Ivar I want Maholtra.

That being said, I know fuck all and I trust Craig’s scouts.

  6. RhodezRMR

If we’re 3rd+, forward wise I would prefer bjork over Malhotra but won’t be too mad over either and for defence the only one I would be ok with is Carels probably for a good left D

  7. imaybeacatIRl

… wait Suvanto over Bjorck? I mean. That’s a decision. I have Viggo has the #2 center in the draft.

  8. I trust Craig will get the best player in the draft if they don’t win the lottery.

Carels is the perfect fit for this team. LHD to play with parekh for the next 15 years

    Make it happen Connie!!

  10. Republic-Of-OK

If we aren’t 1st pick, I really hope somehow Stenberg gets passed on with a reach for Reid. He has been way overhyped and I’m hoping a bit more momentum pushes him one place higher on some team’s draft board…

  11. Timely-Guarantee7917

Umm where is stenberg on this list

  12. the official nhl rankings are weird with how they intentionally divide the North American and International skaters, why do that when the draft isn’t seperated?

  13. rogerthatjim

Of course last year 8 of the top 10 were all forwards and this year they’re all D.

It’s the unsexy answer but I think I’ll be happy with whoever scouting deems BPA, Brz Brz and Zayne make it easy to overlook the fact that our D pipeline is realistically more thin than our forwards pool is. Costanza, Wyttenbach, Potter and Reschny all got us ranked as the #3 prospect pool in the league this year, that’s a lot more names than we have on D, problem is there’s still a lot of uncertainty in all 4 of those guys. If drafting a forward means reaching I’d rather take a bonafide #1D prospect or see if we can trade down for assets (which is unlikely I know) and see who’s available between Bjork, Malhotron, or Lawrence

  14. scratchinHUNTER

Craig’s cooking up something epic. I can’t wait to watch it unfold.

  15. Take the best player available at the time. Potential over position.

D man look to be the legit best players this draft, little weary of the centers/forwards in the top 10. Next year will be the draft to pick up real quality centeres/forwards I hear
