Rooting for anyone playing against Tampa, Buffalo (in the East), and Ducks/Wild (in the West). Would also be hilarious to see the Pens go on a deep run and have success with Skinner.
I am here for Crosby/Malkin/Letang’s last hurrah and playoff run. I think they’ve got a legit shot at the ECF as Carolina is incredibly playoff fugazi. I think Buffalo has a very solid shot to get upset in their first playoff hockey in forever. Montreal/Tampa Bay is gonna be a dogfight.
Out West, I wouldn’t hate Colorado taking it. They’ve been the best team all year. Could set up one hell of a ’96 rematch next season. If LA has one last underdog run with Kopitar I’d also root for them. Dallas/Minnesota should be a great, 7-game series. Screw Vegas. Screw Edmonton harder. Hope they both get upset by young squads!

All I know is above all else, I don’t even want Tampa making a finals appearance, let alone winning it. I also don’t want the Canes, Oilers, or Bruins to win.
I think the Pens or Sabres would be cool, but in a realistic pick I could see the Avs pulling it off.

I live in Texas and love the Sabres underdog story. So rooting for a Stars-Sabres final.
But the real answer is fuck the oilers, knights and ducks. The rest I can stomach (yes even Tampa. I can’t hate State of Florida hockey dominance)

I’m rooting for Vegas or Dallas. Really anyone but Boston or Edmonton would be fine though (I don’t like Tampa, obviously, but I can’t be too upset about keeping the cup in Florida either)

I would laugh hysterically if Edmonton wins it and the takeaway is that Edmonton couldn’t win if they ever faced Florida.

I’m rooting specifically for the former Panthers that helped us reach the finals in ‘23 but were gone before we lifted the cup in ‘24 and ‘25. So that would include Buffalo (Alex Lyon) and Anaheim (Radko Gudas).
Will also root for Ottawa since it would be cool if both Matthew and Brady had rings plus gold medals.
Will be rooting against Edmonton, Tampa, and Boston because their fans were insufferable when we met in the playoffs.

Is this bracket from the official NHL site? Because it has a mistake. It shows Montreal as A2 and Tampa as A3, but in fact Tampa is A2 and Montreal is A3.

If Pens make the Final and none of those teams do, then I’ll go for them.
I refuse to root for Canes or Sens
I will watch Oilers, and Knights, and Bruins and cheer when they lose.
For the rest of them, I don’t really care enough about who wins, but I’ll still watch as many games as I can.
