Was Larkin hurt? I'm curious why he did not play last night. It might be a nothing game, but the Captain should be there up front with the team. It could be an indication of this team's leadership being an issue.
Yzerman put together a team full of figure skaters. Yzerman needs to stop embarrassing us and step down. Todd is a good coach, but he has nothing to work with.
I keep saying it. I want to see JT freaking Compher lace up his skates in GR for the next two years. Let the guys down there know that if they don't produce up here then they are going back down there and we don't care if they're making 5+ mil/yr.
Wasn't this team fighting each other in practice last year? It's a team issue, alot of these players shouldn't come back, Kane included.
I am always amazed with the comments, it is all about emotions, nothing constructive – trade this one, buy out this one, sell the franchise, seems like everybody has built NHL teams for living all their lives. Everybody wants to break and dissolve this franchise, yeah right, this is a big business and you cannot re-build it easily so if you have suggestions which have a real ground then bring them in otherwise – what is the point !

Todd McClellan was our main assistant when we won the cup in 08. And made our powerplay great. This is a players issue. Its lack of skill. Copp and compher go 20 games at a time without a goal. Their teammates are sick of them collecting. Paycheck with weeks without stats. This is the nhl not sisters of the blind.
I really like Mclellan and love what he says, but I can’t believe how more people can’t see the confusion from the players, the mishandling of simple passes. I mean this team can’t figure out a simple breakout they learned in Peewee hockey. These guys are NHL players and can’t catch a neutral zone pass. I don’t think it’s 100% on the players. I think something with this coaching staffs system is broken as well. Let’s not all act like Mclellan is a legend of a head coach. He took a wagon of a San Jose team to nowhere. Again not all on Mclellan, but it’s not just heartless players either.

Locker room issues/ team chemistry is evident during many of the goal scoring celebrations.
Bring in some external advisors such as Matt Martin, Steve Ott, Patrick Maroon, Nick Kypreos, Chris Stewart, etc. and pay them to guide the restructuring of this team. Character matters and part of that in hockey is truculence.

I’m 40 I grew up loving Steve yzerman the 50 goal scorer and didn’t understand why he wasn’t on the stat sheets as hard once the wings finally won in 97,98. He was a offensive dynamo that learned afterwards how to be a two way center after being gifted the Russians and shanahan, he is drafting kids he thinks can be himself after Scotty rained him in out of the juniors. It’s impossible he’s choking.
It all starts with leadership. I am not blaming Todd, he holds the players accountable. But it hasn't helped at all. Dismantle the team minus a few core players. Bring Sergei Fedorov on as coach. We need a total change. My thoughts. Bottom line, this team lacks heart.
