Ladies and gentlemen. We found our fall guy!

  2. Now I’m waiting for the Canucks to post on X:

“Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrick Allvin has announced that General Manager Patrick Allvin has been relieved of his duties as Vancouver Canucks General Manager”

  3. ggpurplecobras

Please dont hire Bergevin please dont hire Bergevin.

  4. What if Alvin was actually good…nothing changes until Rutherford and Aqua are out

  5. newdias88

Good, he pulled off multiple fire worthy moves. The petey contract alone is worth being fired over.

  6. Comfortable-Goat-734

I’m aware that he was far from the only problem with this organization but I’m still very glad that he’s gone.

  7. He clearly had a thing for Swedish players, I wonder if he signaled intent to draft Stenberg over Mckenna at 1 if we got the pick.

  8. Chipmunk-Adventurous

Alvin had a real mixed bag in his time here. But this season was brutal and inexcusable, and he’s the fall guy.

  9. Canucksperson

The root cause of all of this season’s problems has been removed.

    Clear sailing ahead!

This organization continually misses the mark. I stand to be corrected if they have a new GM they’re going to anounce shortly, but why wait until now? A very important draft is coming up and you knew this team was done in October. Making this move during the Olympic break would have at least allowed some extra time. Whatever.

It’s so funny that somebody (doesn’t matter who) was fired before Adam Foote. It’s been a clown show on the ice all season. Even with Hughes, prime Sherwood and a bunch of other players we were still awful. Foote’s system is no system. Worst coach since Willie D. Foote has to be next!

  12. theguy445

Why do ppl so confidently conclude this was good. Like do you have inside knowledge on which moves allvin pushed for or was pushed back against? How can you evaluate his job?

  13. No_Mud1738

Well at least we don’t have to listen to him trash players anymore. JR is gonna really have to step it up 🥴

  14. dukeplissken

If you were RJ would you take the GM job with JR over your head ?? I mean , clearly JR makes all the decisions on player personnel and the GM is the fall guy on any bad moves .

  15. housesoftheholy1

They obviously already have their draft list. They dont need allvin anymore

  16. Ikea_desklamp

Idk guys. Did everything alvin do work? No. But he was definitely not « the » problem. I just have a hard time seeing how this changes anything when we know it’s aqua that’s the problem.

  17. We’re going to also fire Rutherford right? Right?

  18. I knew it. I knew he’d go before the draft. Give the next GM a chance to make his mark right away. Adios Allvin!

  19. IHateSpotifyShuffle

I wonder how much this has to do with that agent poll about how much of a mess the Canucks organization is

  20. Charlie2343

Silver lining this puts to bed drafting stenberg over McKenna

  21. jackfrench9

There’ll be a lot of ‘good riddance’ vibes around here, but this move changes a lot less than people realize.

The blueberry still owns this team.

  22. sunnyrainbows13_

yeah sure why not, just fire everyone. foote next. make it a full rebuild, complete blank slate. we have nothing to lose

  23. Massive_Ad_8856

Until the ownership changes .. this franchise is not going anywhere fast !

  24. Jealous_Difference44

I dont really feel either way about this. Not the final relief of Benning. Just kinda empty

  25. NotaRussianChabot

I’d feel bad for the guy, but then I remember he traded for Evander Kane
