Don’t sleep on Joel too. I’m almost more impressed with his share given how young/new hofer is

I’d have to disagree with this one

As good as Binner is with the lumber, Hofer’s even better. This just seems like a reputational W for Binner and a delay in recognition throughout the league for Hof, much like how most national and opponent commentators didn’t recognize that Hofer basically became our starter by December.

Binner has the name recognition. But hofer handles the puck better. People will learn

His puck handling was a huge reason the Jets (should have lost) struggled against the Blues last playoffs. He shut down their zone entries like a clinic.

I’m not a hockey player, but what do people look for for good stick handling in a goalie? Most of the time what I see in my limited knowledge is goalies coming out to play it and just ringing the puck around the boards. is it the accuracy of passes or how much he comes out of the net to play the puck?.

Pretty obvious answer. Of course, Hof is just as good as Binny is.

The Hofer glaze is crazyyyyy. Yes, he was the better goalie this year. But watching him play the puck gives you anxiety. The guy is getting better but to say he is better than Binnington with pure puck handling is delusional. Watching him you can tell he is picking up a lot from Binner but he still has a ways to go to be on the same level.

Wild because I think Hofer might be better

Isn’t Hof elite as well?
captmac
The other night against Pittsburgh, he had almost 10 seconds of a delayed offside and the penguins net empty with the puck on his stick….and no shot attempt.
He could have downed a cold beer and still had time to go for a goalie goal and yet he didn’t.
Both of our guys are studs behind the net empty
Hofer gets .3 seconds next to the net and he’s mailing that thing every time.

🏒💙💛💙🏒 I just love the guy… Glad he is getting some recognition after a crappy year.

And it wasn’t even close.
