Mr. Kissable thinks the Jets have to fire Chevy.
He thinks start there first, then start the rebuild under someone else's 5 year plan rolls eyes
What a waste of talent 55/81 years are slowly coming to a end both have 3 to 4 years left in their careers
Edmonton Dallas Tampa Florida Boston Colorado all have been to the Cup look at those team structure and talent as well Drafting core first round picks that became what they are today
Thry need an honest review. I think they have been trying too hard to do things that appear right or feel right but not what really needs to be done.
This is not a playoff ready team. As Presidents trophy winners last year they just barely got by St. Louis, and then completely dismantled by Dallas. What part of those performances were people thinking thats Stanley Cup contenders?
Personnel? Pretty much president trophy personnel
They missed out big time with Ehlers. Okay, he didn't produce in the playoffs. Coaches and assistants can fix that, can't they??? He's now with the 'Canes and playing a bit worse than last year. Maybe they, too, were expecting a superstar. Today's teams are much younger and can play fast. I saw the way these teams took on the Jets this season. They just waited behind centre ice and picked off the puck almost every time and went off on odd man rushes more often than not. When the Jets shot the puck deep, they never had the gas to go get the puck. These things didn't happen in the past seasons. Yeah, there were injuries, but it seems the better games were when there were a few players out of the lineup. The jets still have to draft a talented young goalie which will back up and eventually replace Hellebuyck in the future. My two cents.
Small, slow and old is not a good combo in the NHL and that's what the Jets are. There is no easy fix.
I’m ready to give management another year, but without real progress, it’s time for some housecleaning.
the chipman management is very loyal to the team and management. they can not look at their team objectively. plus chevy loves his picks and has a hard time admitting that a prospect is not going to achieve their expectations. plus its hard to get players to play here. unfortunately
Nobody wants to play in this shit city, maybe start there.
Wives and girlfriends drive the team choice more than anything. And that is a toxic brew in many cases. I have inside info. I am sure not all, but many are not supportive of a team like Winnipeg. Hockey playing monks would be good draft choices. 😂
Is Chevy’s job really the toughest in the league? Seems to me being gm in Toronto or Montreal is way harder. Chevy constantly gets a free pass for his mediocrity.
Add another admitted injury: Nino's Knee! Stated it was a drain and play all season.
I'm gonna say that last season a lot of teams had an off year while the Jets definitely had an on year. This year so many teams clicked. Meanwhile the Jets were just not on the same page from day one. How about some youngsters join next year AND everyone is healthy…(and gulp, new coach)
I could never figure out why Arniel continued to kept 55 and 81 together when you are losing 11 in a row. That fits right with the definition of insanity – doing the same thing and expecting different results. Also sticking with Toews as the 2nd line centre for 50+ games was a terrible decison. Moving Baron up to that spot would've even been better alternative.
IT STARTS WITH CHEVY. He has passed his time. He hasn’t brought a cup. Let’s not joke here it’s about WINNING the cup not about making the playoffs, building a tough playoff team not a seasonal team. 15yrs is well over what a GM should last unless he’s bringing back results going deep. JETS NEED NEW EYES on this team, A FRESH start. However Jets’ biggest drawback is unfortunately Chipman’s loyalty to Chevy.
Until management changes ….what makes you think ANYTHING other than coaches will be changed…
Well said Murat. The reluctance to make any changes and the fear driving that is accurate
No 2C, no secondary scoring. Slide Perfetti to 2C, call up the top scorer in the AHL the previous 3 seasons, Sam Fagemo and waive Nyquist. Crate a 3rd pair out of salomonson and Heinola. Waive Schenn.
Josh Morrissey is an incredible player who has been injured for every big.gzme he was supposed to be in. Injured every playoffs, 4 nations and Olympics. He's never played a meaningful game for us since 2018.
Arniel must GO!
If top prospects are playing on the 4th line in the AHL that’s indefensible, coach needs to be fired 100%. No one cares about your record, you have one goal and only one goal, and that’s player development
“ Two steps back. “ A fair summary of the season.
It seems to me that the Moose coaching (or perhaps the coaching staff is following direction from upper management) aren't creating an environment to allow their young players to thrive. Not sure what needs to change but it seems they (Moose coaching staff) are stifling the young players offensive creativity (which means it takes way too much time to find it, if they ever do, when they get called up).
