Teams are quite similar if you take stats from last half of the season. Ottawa changed their coaches up on pk and defense and the team did a 180. Mile Yeo deserves a ton of credit. I still think it comes down to what Ullmark we get. If he continues his play since he returned I see Sens winning this. If he gets injured/in his head I can see Canes winning. It’s hard to emulate Florida in this series because of the round 3 they don’t call a lot of penalties compared to the first round. Tkachuk, Stuetzle and Sanderson are also key players in this series as they stand out as game breakers and Carolina doesn’t have a similar player to those three. For Carolina it’s Svechnekov, Aho, Jarvis as game breakers. I do think the Sens have better offensive defense on each line that can also be difference makers. Either way still a coin flip. Worth the bet $$ on Sens as they are not a coin flip according to betting sites where it’s a 65-35 split.
Pinto is also in the running for the Selke. Pinto, Amadio, and Cousins will have to shut down Carolina’s top line.
Senators pk has been top 10 in 2026
Sens PK has been nearly 81% since the switch up of yeo and baumgartner on jan 24. They were dreadful on the pk until then, and they're top 10 now in that stretch. How a team is playing entering the playoffs matters, and ottawas special teams have been heating up for months.
