  1. The worst part about this season is the commentary from fans. I never realized just how many morons were Red Wings fans. Our fan base has never looked worse.

  2. Listen, this guy has been through the ringer and back off the ice, maybe it’s time to let him step down on face value and captain from the locker room, playing more freely Larkin is something special, we can’t see him go somewhere else and be so good (USA) and wonder maybe he’s under too much pressure. Don’t want to lose him like Toronto lost marner

  3. Im so sick of this asshole. The whole "other teams were fighting for the spot and we werent good enough" mentality is such bullshit. You werent fighting. You guys didnt even show up half of the time. Never seen a group of dudes get called out repeatedly by their coach continue to just no show. Bunch of gutless losers.

  4. As the team cratered, it has been odd how the fans and Todd are on the same page, but the players seem to be watching something else.

  5. "Go get a real 1C" as if they just sprout out of the ground and it's easy to go pick up what amounts to generational talent. There is not a more difficult role to fill. Not to mention how much it's going to cost you and if it's even going to be worth what you will lose to get it. Is Thomas or Trocheck a "true 1C"? I didn't think so. None of them have impressive careers and we all know how high the price for them was. Do you really want Pettersson? Who has already shown that he can't fix a struggling team? If thats not even a "true 1C" then imagine how much a real one costs? What you're asking for is an insanely high price. Plus who is even going to want to trade this mythical "true 1C"? Y'all put together these mock trades that are laughable. Nobody is accepting Larkin for Matthews. You also can't just luck into an amazing draft pick. That's not how it works and do you really want this team to tank for years just to try and luck into getting one? I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed and to want change. We all want that. It is however unreasonable to act like it should be easy to just trade worse players away for amazing players and just make this team a contender at the snap of your fingers. These armchair GMs are so freaking embarrassing.

  6. the reason this team keeps wiping out coaches/rosters & failing is because they're trying to build on a weak foundation.  Larkin is not a leader or captain material at all.  Trade that clown and start a proper rebuild

  7. For a guy with zero creativity he actually out grew his potential when we drafted him cus he's a horse but he can't be your 1C. Need to trade for a 1C and he would be a good 2C

  8. larkin starts 40% of shifts in the defensive zone 5v5. No center starting 32.5% of more shifts in the defensive zone with at least 5 games played this year is a point per game. Larkins offensive zone ratio which is how a player is deployed when starting 5v5 offensively or defensively, is 44%. Nick suzuki is at 52.4% of oz ratio mean he is deployed more often in the offensive zone 5v5 than defensively and is the lowest percentage of all centers who were a point per game. When datsyuk and zetterberg played, only 1 year did either guy start below 50% in the offensive zone 5v5. Larkin nearly every season has been below 50% and this year was the lowest. Larkins left wings consisted this year of kasper, 2nd year forward with a bad sophomore slump, finnie who is a rookie, compher, jvr, copp, I believe rasmussen at one point, and soderblom. Not a single guy who is a 50+ point player at this point of their career. Everyone expects larkin to provide a ton of offense with no left wing while playing a lot of defensive zone roles. Larkin 5v5 takes more faceoffs in the defensive zone than the offensive zone. When you are started further away from the opponents net compared to your peers, you will produce less offense. That is just how that works. When you are played with a left wing that doesn't produce as well as yours peers left wingers can, you will produce less offense. That is just how that works.

  9. Larkin is a C2. RW need a completely new first line and a new Captain. Keep Kane in 3rd line. Rebuild the 4th with heavy people (get back Soderblom)

  10. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I wish the media and fan base would lighten up on this guy. He’s played his heart out and carried the team on his back for a decade with VERY little help. He and Lucas, as some of the very few on this team who actually generate offense, are the targets of abuse by the other teams who know that an easy way to neutralize the Wings is to run these guys. When they do, the bums on the team don’t make themselves useful by running these guys other team’s good players. If the other teams had to suffer with their best player’s output diminished, maybe they would be less likely to abuse ours. This season went in the tank when those two guys in particular lost their effectiveness due to the effects of injury. The solution is not to run these two guys out of town but get them more talent and a protector or group of protectors. Mr. Yzerman?

  11. Maybe this year Steve can Show him his disappointment after Dylan did the year before after the trade deadline.

  12. 1 goal/4 points from Larkin 5 on 5 since Christmas, if he isn't completely useless 5 on 5 they make playoffs easily.

    Nothing but excues for him

  13. I mean, it really wasn’t in their hands. They played well enough to be in a 1st division spot, they were just in the wrong conference lol. It’s not their fault literally every east team was around 90 points and a playoff caliber team. If we were on the west no one would be upset with how this teamed played

  14. It's amazing Larkin doesn't have a bad back from carrying this team. You can't be a contending team with 1 top center. You don't need 2 superstar centers but you have to have 2 top 2 centers. Andrew Copp did a decent job for most of the season but he only had like 8 or 9 goals while he was on a line with Cat and Kane. I've been saying it for years that this team is lacking down the middle, hopefully they can address it in a trade or one of Danielson or Kasper can step up

  15. "we understood what we were, during that post trade deadline till the end, we were playing teams that were fighting for their lives", " I thought we handled ourselves well". REALLY! REALLY?

This is absolute delusion and and embarrassing, they played team with nothing on the line and got smoked, did not handle yourselves well

  16. "part of that tightness was dipping your toe into a game, when your anxious for a game there is tendencies as a player to go out and see what it's going to be like, is it going to be a hard night, easy night"

Guy literally admitted he does exactly what Todd has been saying they can't do since day 1

  17. He needs a better offensive player or two to play with, his soul disappeared when Bertuzzi left. If Yzerwonder can surprise anything two names come to mind Matthews and Connor. It'll be like the HULL and Shannan ordeal.

  18. Love Larks as a player and seems to be a really good dude but I love the team more. Changes need to be made.. Obviously. Whether that be a blockbuster trade for him or getting rid of dead weight contracts doesn't matter to me anymore. 10 freaking years and things need to be fixed.

  19. Please can we get some better players to help Larkin out. Soon or later he’s going to have every bone in his body broken he’s one of only ones who tries every night. Sucks he’s playing on this team I don’t how he does it.

  20. Dylan Larkin is our Captain. All you people clearly don’t know anything about hockey. You can’t win with only 2 lines running. Bottom 6 needs to get way better.

Larkin has a full no trade clause through 2027-2028

  21. If I had to guess, the players just fucking gave up mid season and have been going through the motions…I believe the Todd Father is the problem…he's a hard ass old school coach who isn't reasoning with the younger players

  22. People need to cut him some slack. This man is a beast. Aggressive, fast and one of the few goal scorers on this team besides the Cat and Mo. These three along with Gibson have carried this team all season
