Hot take i think he’ll go down as a pretty well regarded captain overall when his time is up.

Is anyone asking him if he played hurt this year and that’s why he sucked? He got hurt right before the season started and rushed back, if he wasn’t actually able to play effectively then that’s not « leadership », it’s just stupid.

  3. Hands down the worst captain this team has ever seen. Horrible attitude and way too emotional to act as a positive influence on the younger players on this team. How many games this year did he break his stick on the bench or goal post and outright refuse to answer questions from post game interviews? Endless BS from « Mr. No BS »

Edit: And he looks stupid in those glasses and that hat.

People on Reddit love to complain but I’m glad he’s our captain. Think he’ll get healthy this offseason and be a strong leader for the young guys

  5. This dude is such a bitch. I don’t even want him on the team, let alone as captain. Shits embarrassing.

I appreciate the honesty. It was a tough season and a tough first year to wear a C.

It doesn’t take much to lead and look good doing it when everything is going your way. It takes a lot of mental fortitude to keep a group together when nothing is.

Hopefully this season was a necessary setback and this all gets better and better as the years go by.

Give me a break. It was heavy for you…. 🙄
You made 8 million dollars this year

Not a great season from Millsy, certainly not what you wanted from a first year as captain.

I understand why they gave him the C, really. His play (when healthy) is aggressive, intense, physical and effective. He’s got 1st line skills and is more than happy to go into the dirty areas, fight for pucks, really set the tone. That should inspire the younger guys to see an NHL veteran and captain doing the dirty work.

But it didn’t go that way. Miller was injured most of the season, and his play suffered. The team fell apart by Thanksgiving, Fox and  Shesty missed time, we plunged to the bottom of the league and Miller started answering reporters with « We can’t figure it out either »

I honestly don’t care about his answers to the media. It’s not the first time this core has been impossible to inspire.  The team fell apart, and neither Miller, Sullivan, nor Drury had an answer for it. In fact, Drury is so inept that his attempts at tanking produced a measurably better team. The injection of youth and the removal of pressure resulted in a more energetic, cohesive, and fun team. Laffy popped off for the best 2 months he’s ever had. Mika looked rejuvenated, Gabe showed that he’s legit. Maybe that should be a sign to the GM that intentionally creating a toxic, tense, and hostile team doesn’t work anymore.

Assuming he comes in healthy, and the team actually plays with some fire in them, I expect Miller to make this year an outlier. When the team is in the fight, he’s at his best, but this was a season cursed by injuries, players wilting under pressure, self pity and Chris Drury. His skilled and talent didn’t evaporate, but his difficultly regulating his emotions is continuing to define his career. We’re gambling on getting his highs instead of his lows.

I don’t want a captain who admits he had to take a month off while in Vancouver because he couldn’t handle his emotions and would let them drive him to do stupid things. If his mental state is that fragile, he needs long-term in-patient mental health treatment and should NEVER be in any type of a leadership position with that type of a fragile mental state. Yet, Drury, made this guy, a fragile butterfly, our captain, after knowing what happened in Vancouver. Fuck them both. Get this crybaby maga loser off this team ASAP and take his BFF, Trocheck, with him.

You’re more than happy to remove the letter off your jersey

  11. man i’ve been critical of JT all year but this is a really solid answer. hope he comes into next year living up to the name

JT with glasses looks like 100’s of lawyers you see in midtown.

Hope he learns from it and doesn’t double down on being a dbag

Honestly think he was playing hurt this year too but obviously wont admit it. Glad he’s got the C even tho I was hoping it was going to be Troch, feel like he could have a bounce back year like Mika next season
