The elephant not in the room is the problem the owner finally agrees to a rebuild that should have happened 10 years ago then 5 years ago because there’s no patience in this franchise to do a proper rebuild because of the owner

He threw Allvin under the bus and then backed up and reversed it over him again. The contradictions in the messaging from this guy is wild. Rutherford just says whatever he thinks will get people to leave him alone, there is no real plan.
Awesome first step, we need big strong fast skilled guys with high hockey IQ, just keep drafting position and later rounds make your gambles. Stay away from bad contracts and keep the best guys and trade the ones out the door for MORE picks, build the cupboards Now!

Rutherford should be the Owner. Appreciate that he acknowledges the fans regularly, unlike Francesco.
I am happy Allvin is gone. But JR needs to shoulder the same blame. Did not like his comments here one bit. "Allvin made the decisions" – sure pal. "We decided to suck for a high pick" – Yes they sold off, but other than Garland the whole top 6 forwards are still there – so no excuse to be THIS bad. He and Allvin constructed this mess. "Chytil injury" – everyone knew he couldn't stay healthy, why did they take him then. "Demko injury" – why did you pay horrible Tankinen starters money for 5 years then if he can't get it done. "Exciting team" – not sure if he is aware of other team's pipelines. Ask Chicago fans how exciting it is to still suck and there is nowhere near the talent level in the young Canucks. Bottom line: JR needs to go as well – completely fresh start for the franchise!
