I think it speaks volumes that he spoke multiple times about the honor of being a Red Wing and being able to play in the NHL at all. He's humble, calm, and well spoken. That's what we need in a leader.
What Mo said last about the bottom six forwards being seen is very telling. Maybe there is a bit of divide within the locker room about the roles that certain players are filling within the team. Not saying Mo is 100% right, the bottom six needs to produce more offense but, it is also telling how much has been put on the top six forward group and clearly they are just not able to handle what has been expected of them with the lack of production the bottom six has given.

I don't think they will do it anytime soon, but he is absolutely the next captain of this team. He's frustrated and angry like the rest of us and that's good to see.

the reason this team keeps wiping out coaches/rosters & failing is because they're trying to build on a weak foundation. Larkin is not a leader or captain material at all. Trade that clown and start a proper rebuild
This guy says 'Gotta be better', after being the best player on this team who showed up every night. The only player who comes close to how important and how well Mo played is Cat.
Everyone on this team needs to pick up the slack, Mo and Cat can't do it alone.
Everyone loves a humble guy but come on… You can’t possibly play that much better, Mo. Obviously he isn’t gonna come out and say “yeah my teammates suck” but in all reality this guy is the last reason why the team is failing.
No disrespect to all the people wanting Mo as Captain. Absolutely love him and he gets better every year. His best is yet to come. Wearing a C won’t change this team. It’s on them to get better together, and Stevie to get us a couple crucial adds and subtracts this summer. It can and likely will get a lot better next year. Move on from 37 and Rasmussen. Get a true and talented 2nd or 1st line center. Play the kids and create a true checking line or 2.
