John gave us 71 points at 35 playing out of his depth at this point as the 2C and 1C for the entire year. This man was not one of the problems this year.
Leaf fans are whiners. The Atlantic division is very skilled and competitive. other teams developed better than the Leafs. If it was easy, it would not be the NHL!!!!
JT equals no cups. He never will either 1967.
This guy went on a 7-8 game stretch with points and goals. he played his contract everyone else sucked.
Tavares was not the problem. Once again 30 goal scorer. One of the best face off men in the game. Huge leadership abilities. Consistent.
John was one of the few constants for TO this year. He owned the poorer D play, which has never been his strong suit but was passable most years. But the entire team was bad in their end aside from McCabe. At his age, he still has all the skills necessary to excell except speed, which has always been John's weak spot. I think a move to wing, even part time, would benefit him and the team if a suitable 2C can be found. He's one of the best in the league still in faceoffs so I'd still utilize that when needed.
