I think Sekeres and Price are right, didn't want a really bad news day if they let go Adam Foote too. I think Foote will likely be shown the door too as no new GM wants to have a coach they didn't have a hand in hiring. Bring on Manny Malhotra. I hope the way is clear now that if the Canucks win the draft lottery, they select Gavin McKenna.
Now we will get McKenna for sure if we get that #1 pick. Allvin would've fought for Stenberg for sure!
I might be late to this, as I cannot listen live at work, but remember when Rutherford took over the Hughes trade? Maybe, just maybe, Alvin wasn't doing the greatest job.
Rutherford is responsible. I don't think he will last a proper rebuild. I'm concerned he will cut corners sooner to make this team "competitive".

After all those big statements in his press conferences and interviews in the past couple years about Allvin being the Big Dawg, the Sheriff who's gonna lay down the law…Was met with inaction until his hand was forced, re-signing a failed core (and having to dump them later) allowing interpersonal issues to fester, and none of that was appropriate leadership.
Well, that was just 3 years too late… Why hasn't Rutherford stepped down? This was not all Allvin's fault, if any at all… Sacrifical lamb, for certain, unless Rutherford if fired too !!

That is a good point. Rutherford chose Allvin. They both chose Tocchet and then Foote. If Allvin failed, that means Rutherford failed too. The whole chain of management, of what they did , managed and led, it is on them of what the team is today.

when Rutherford, Alvin, and Tocchet were first introduced as h to e new regime, Rutherford did most of the talking even though some of the questions were not necessarily directed to him. Alvin is his job insurance. Lest we forget how much praise was heaped on the trades Alvin had made especially those two years ago.
They're bad on purpose, it's not incompetence. They knew what they were doing. Good teams tank, the Canucks aren't and never have been a tem that tanks. The 1st time they tank intentionally the media and fans demand a full sweep of the front office. This is why the Canucks will never win the Cup. The media and the fans don't have the stomach for the process. The process is painful. This is why the Canucks are guaranteed to stay bad. Belly aching media. It's been like this for over 50+ years. Either way the media complains. They complain about losing then complain about the process of becoming a winner.

When virtually every center on your team is on injured reserve you are going to get crushed.When your ace goaltender is injured all the time you will get crushed even more when every player you draft is an undersized Swede that will inevitably get injured -you will get crushed –when you overpay mediocre talent for extended times you are mismanaging your team.Look at the last number of years in the draft and the Canucks have not drafted one Canadian player that is big enough and tough enough to play injury free and actually improve year after year.This is a Canadian based team not playing in Europe.Draft Canadians and skip lightweight Euro's and a-hole Americans.
