Thank you Joe!
What a career the best ever,,,,,
Why is this the most emotional thing ive ever watched in my life. That killed me.
Thank you for the memories and congratulations on well deserved honours into retirement. Enjoy! 🥃
i grew in 90s listrening to you, thanks for all years Joe, best ever to do it.
Thank you Joe for all the memories you are the man
He deserved so much better from this team.
Hey TML, commission someone to write a goal song (like the rangers have) and give them complete creative control. Except for one thing. They have to include "HOLY MACKINAW!!!!" in it. Thanks for the memories bonsey!
Not possible to watch this with dry eyes 😭😭
Thank you, Joe!
Joe Bowen gave more to the Maple Leafs than any of the its players.
Joe Bowen is right up there for me no matter what the sport Bob Uecker, Harry Caray called their final game before their death Vin Scully lived a few more years. I hope Joe Bowen is happy because he’s still got a great hockey call and he’s the best I know to listen to a Leafs hockey game Holy Mackinaw Bless you Boys Joe Bowen good luck to whoever takes over for him replacing a legend. Sad to see his last call because he leaves on top he still has it and we have memories 💙💙💙 it doesnt matter how the Leafs did Joe Bowen left on top of his game.
I'm sure Foster Hewitt appreciates his booth being renamed Bowen's booth. Who cares about history, right? Who cares about the time the Leafs were winners, right? On behalf of the people that do care about such things, I hereby apologise to the late great Foster Hewitt for such s t u p i d i t y being done today.
Let's remember that Joe Bowen was doing the TV play by play until the leafs s c r e w e d Joe over and pushed him down to radio hoping that Joe wouldn't take the shaft and quit.
Thank you Joe. It'll never be the same without you. Leafs Nation Loves You
This team let you down, Joe – and that bothers me. ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT!
As a Leafs fan in Detroit, it was always the best time back in the 90s and early 2000s before the internet was on our phones and everything else to be able to pull the Leafs games from the airwaves of the radio and hear Joe and all his color guys through the years. To me Joe Bowen will always be the Ernie Harwell (Legendary Detroit Tigers announcer) of Hockey, two great game callers that will always be my favorites!
Enjoy your retirement Joe! You earned it!
Man I wish he got to call a Leafs Stanley Cup Final
Thank you for everything Joe you are a leaf for life
My new favourite The Leaf: Blueprint episode. Joe, I am 69 years young and a lifelong Leafs fan so I have been with you for all 44 years. I will miss you calling the games and lets hope the Leafs make the right decision and bring in your son David to carry on the Bowen name in the booth the same as the Hewitt's did way back when. You are a legend Joe!!
How sad 44yrs and never announced the leafs winning a cup. 😢 congratulations
Thank you Joe💙💙💙
The saddest part about this, he never got to make the call. 44 years and not once….
I cried Monday night, I cried Wednesday night, and I'm crying now. Bonsie is the only Leaf voice I've ever known in, listening in on my mom's old transistor from the age of 8. He and Ralphy together are unmatched in North American sports broadcasting. Both will be Maple Leafs Forever.
Thank you Joe !
His voice will never ever be matched!!
Ok…..im fully crying!!
👍👍👍👍Hopefully MLSE has the class and grace to get Bonsie back in the booth if — and when — the Leafs are on the verge of winning the Cup …. just so he can make that Cup Winning Call. 👍👍👍👍
Joe has been the voice of the Leafs for the entirety of my life, and I'm thankful that he has received these very due honours. Hopefully he can enjoy the game as a fan as much as I have while listening to him call the Leafs. Enjoy retirement Mr. Bowen, you've definitely earned it!
If you're a Leaf fan you can't watch that with dry eyes! Bless you Joe!
Wow what an episode
Man I miss the days of Joe and Harry Neale doing games on tv at Maple Leaf Gardens. Congrats Joe on a spectacular career and enjoy retirement!! Sudbury is so proud of you!!
This man's voice is like 17,4% of my entire childhood. We should've won a cup for this man. For shame MLSE and Rogers.
My parents separated when I was at a young age, I spent many many hours on long drives listening to Mr Bowen. A light in a dark time. Enjoy the retirement Joe 💙
At 37 I've known you broadcasting my whole life Joe, thanks for so many wonderful years and all the best❤
I needed a box and a half of tissues to make it through to the end.
Joe Bowen is a legend and while whoever takes his place next season will no doubt be a true professional, they will never be Joe Bowen. Nor should they.
This was a great episode and thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU Joe for being the voice that made me feel closer to the game for 44 years!
I'd be lying if I said I didn't bawl like a baby after Wednesday's game. I'm 36 years old, Joe has been the voice of the Leafs my entire life. When I was a teenager working my first job at a grocery store, on Saturday nights I'd have AM 640 on the radio to listen to Joe and Jim call the games. Every regional game (prior to the Rogers NHL deal) I'd be excited to listen to Joe's calls. In the offseason, I'd scour YouTube to find the best of Joe Bowen calls. It honestly feels like saying goodbye to a friend. When the Leafs win the Cup (and they will one day), he HAS to be the MC of the event. Hell, he better be leading that parade down Yonge Street.
Bless you Joe, have a wonderful retirement, you've earned it.
Man, this hit me in the feels harder than i would have ever thought. Congratulations Joe, you will be greatly missed.
Im not crying youre crying.
Cried a few times this week, I'm gonna miss Joe, the voice of the Leafs for my whole life. Sorry the boys never got it done for you Joe, hearing you call the leafs hoisting the cup would have been the icing on the cake. Enjoy your well deserved retirement 💙🤍
