Les Sénateurs PENSENT avoir égalisé le match, l’arbitre a décidé qu’il s’agissait d’un but sur la glace, mais après examen vidéo, il a été décidé que la rondelle n’avait jamais complètement franchi la ligne.

The net cam they showed at the TV time out showed it never went in

Sens got robbed. This game is rigged! 😂

It’s conceivable that the puck crossed, but there is a burden of proof. I will always stand by « the goalie made the save unless you can prove it went in », which while possible, can’t be proven here, since you dont know if the puck is on edge

The puck didnt fully cross the line
End of story

If only we had the technology to put a camera in the net.

For situations like this I wonder if that’d ever implement a system like the ABS in baseball.

Puck never crossed. Overhead cam cut and dry

I think the refs let Tkachuk determine it was a goal, lol. He was pretty convincing selling it

Rough to think you tied it and then go down 2-0

Sometimes while watching on TV, if we don’t see a definitive camera angle, that doesn’t mean that one doesn’t exist.
This is a great example, because we never saw the net cam during the actual review on the broadcast and that’s what was used by the officials.

I’m glad a broadcast finally had to bring this up, especially with a rules person on. The NFL is where you need conclusive evidence to overturn a call, and that understanding seemingly bleeds into people incorrectly assuming the same for the NHL. The NHL has a different set of rules and standards, including that we need conclusive video evidence of a puck completely crossing the line for a goal to count, like we saw today.
Last I checked, which to be fair was a while ago, once something goes to video review the call on the ice becomes irrelevant.

It was the right call. Replays confirmed it
