I’m sorry but how is that a charge. Sick and tired of if someone goes down hard it’s a penalty. Years ago Wilson was the king of these and never got anything besides an elbow to the head when he legit did it
CHARGING. He was flying with those extra steps. Sometimes guys can't control themselves because they are psyched up for playoff intensity they can't control.
The league needs to start protecting the players and suspending these dudes who think it's cool to turn their back and flop during a hit. It's getting everyone injured and it looks bad.
None of the referees had their hands up after the hit. They made it a penalty because D'Astous was having a hard time standing up. Referees were garbage
Modern play doe soft NHL = No Hitting League. The Department Of Player Safety and the leagues concerns over concussions and CTE are literally ruining every physical aspect of the sport. Fighting majors are down over 70% from just over a decade or so ago. Registered body checks and hits per game are down 50% from that same period of 2011 when compared to the 2024 season. They have actively started to rule and phase out fighting and enforcement altogether. Mandatory visors. The new rules prohibiting line brawls, or even more than one ongoing altercation at a time. Rules about fighting in the final 5 minutes of a game. Game Misconducts and ejections handed out like candy, for even the slightest sign of grit or tenacity or violent edge. Any big hit is now a penalty, regardless of if it even violated the rules. And now if a player dives or stays down and feigns a head injury…-…they know they can draw a penalty. The NHL is slowly becoming like soccer. Pussified, weak and pathetic. It's genuinely hard to watch these days. Linesmen preventing goalie fights, breaking up fights before they start etc. And guess what?, stats and studies have shown that nearly 80% of head injuries aren't the result of a fight. But instead, a result of a hit and body check, you know what that means?. That means now that the NHL has nearly completely ruined fighting in the league, it's going to go after body checking and hitting. And that's what we are seeing now. Any hard or violent appearing check or hit will be analyzed under a microscope and now they are issuing penalties well after the play, retroactively on hits that didn't even break a single rule by definition. The days of Hockey being a tough and tenacious and gritty sport are dying out, and it's genuinely sad to see happen live.
Anderson takes literally like barely two strides and he was gliding. That's not charging. Pathetic and play doe soft penalty, because of potential head injury. Reactionary penalties based on a players response to the hit itself should not be called. No arm was raised originally, as there was clearly no penalty. But once they start looking at a replay, suddenly now it's a penalty. That's lame and gay. It was either a violation of a clearly stated rule in the book, and a justified penalty OR it wasn't. And clearly no official on the ice saw a penalty occur when the hit took place. So the major and review and subsequent minor all stemmed from what I'd call a non-penalty play to begin with. If the DoPs is so concerned about concussions and CTE, just remove body checking from the game already and put the players on figures skates and give them tutu dresses as well. This is getting to be way past the point of pathetic and embarrassing. We are going to have players diving and acting like they are KO'd just to potentially draw a penalty now. Straight up soccer shit, and that's no good.
Was no different than Tom Wilson’s hit at the olympics and those refs got it right , shouldn’t have been a penalty. Funny how no one Tampa went anywhere near Anderson after the hit , selective tough guys I guess.

Anderson is really fast for a big man. He can be dangerous at full speed when he hit.
Josh is just super fast and big. Not his fault
they want to act tough , they want to be mean … they soft af
That wasn't a charge. Looked like a play I would expect to see when watching a professional playoff game being played by men.
