Is there a form of dyslexia that makes management see things upside down?
The bottom 6 were generally pretty good – the season was sunk by the top 6 repeatedly failing to score, especially at home.
Carrick, Rempe and Edstrom were a great 4th line…while they lasted.
We also had bottom 6 caliber forwards playing in the top 6.
IMO the problem was Sullivan's line combinations, player selection & not focusing on youth development. He created a 2 line team by stacking the top 6 & weakening the bottom 6. I think the D was OK actually. The problem in the D-zone was the wingers often failing to cover the points which allowed the cycle to persist far too long & players running out of steam. Drury has never had an original thought in his life, recreating a letter to fans & just mimicking whatever Sullivan says. The rooks brought a lot of energy & speed that was lacking. I think Robertson is evolving into a very good defenseman & I have no problem with him on the second pair. It should be noted that Morrow showed some real progress in the latter half with Hartford. Another player who improved was Carey Terrance. The transition to the AHL is very difficult & progress is usually gradual. Bringing in guys like Sheary & Raddysh was not a positive move & seems to be Drury's MO, always bringing in short term "fixes" which don't move the program forward.
