takeaways in no particular order:
– if you would’ve told me we’d come back home with the series tied 1-1 i’d have been very happy. we’re fighting hard but definitely ran out of steam tonight. win or lose these Lightning games are so formative for this core.
– fuck Scott Sabourin, glad Andy is okay, because wow, what a series for BJA so far. worth every penny of that $5.5M contract for his playoffs physicality alone.
– Dobeš was locked in tonight, some huge saves by him in OT.
– Danault and Evans also great game, huge line for us this playoffs so far.
– first line not at its best tonight, ouf Slaf that giveaway on the tying goal. felt like he was playing woozy after getting punched in the face. Suzuki and Caufield also need to be better at 5v5, seems like they’re getting shut down.
– i liked Bolduc’s game. Texier was more noticeable today. not Demi’s best. feel like Gally and/or Veleno will be in for Dach next game.
– Matheson-Carrier has been very solid so far. defense was solid tonight overall and they’ve been a huge part of it.
– Xhekaj was good tonight again.
– Hutson scoring is a good sign, needs to shoot when Tampa gives it to him on the PP. hit the post late in the third too.
– felt like we dominated much of that game, just gotta keep playing like this. excited for some home games.
Aight Dach can sit the next game/rest of the playoffs
what a wasted opportunity, so many stupid mistakes, and just so flat in the 3rd and OT
horrifc game from the top line, just fucking brutal, cost us the game
can’t give away wins like that again
Bench Dach ffs
Damnit Dach wtf was that shit
That one was on Dach for that stupid icing.
Last dach game in a habs jersey. So done with his ass. No guts no heart no brains. Just a skeleton
That Slaf turnover and Dach brain dead icing going to leave me sleepless.
lost through unforced errors… we got one on the road though, bell centre crowd will hopefully carry them to a 3-1 lead
Unacceptable performance from the top line
That icing + blown assignment hopefully cost dach his spot in game 3
Unacceptable effort in overtime
What a fucking pathetic OT. Holyshit.
Series is tied 1-1, we gotta win both in Montreal now
They played not to lose in overtime… thats how you lose in overtime.
That was an embarrassing OT if I ever saw one. Just embarrassing.
Can we SIT useless Kirby now!?
Empty-headed icing and totally invisible all game except for errors.
Did anyone tell the offence that the overtime was underway
You bench Dach forever now right ?
Worst period of hockey I’ve seen
Caufield was absolutely terrible tonight
Suzuki needs to be a lot better. A looooot
Dangling to puck for 10 seconds just to fkn ice it. Good shit
All things considered, dobeš had a really good performance
Embarrassing effort in that OT. Slaf taking that fight completely ruined his mojo.
Bencher Dach tabarnak. Il fait RIEN de productif. RIEN CALISS
This is a 2-1 win if Slaf isn’t a dumbass & Dach isn’t lazy.
Tampa playing desperate because they are desperate. OTL stings but 1-1 going back to Montreal is completely fine.
Dobes deserved better. Team didnt even want to play the OT
Back to MTL tied 1-1. I’ll take it.
Last shift as a Canadiens for Dach. Good riddance
Hutson’s a gamer. 1st line, especially Cole need to show up he looks like he’s playing scared. Dach man, that play most likely ended his NHL career
I think MSL should have called a timeout in OT.
Ship Dach to Montembeault island
There’s only so much Dobes can do man. Yes we can blame Dach for his icing, but bros, we didn’t show up during OT AT ALL. Not a single shot in like 13 minutes, how the fuck does that happen.

Terrible OT but I can’t help but think this wasn’t a game changing call.
I won’t hear a word against dobes for any part of that lost, he was a MONSTER esp in apt
Might be the last game Dach plays for us. I’ve rooted for him for years, but with a contract to play for he’s sleepwalking thru these games.
Big picture, I’m pumped. We can hang with this team. It will not be easy to win 4, but it was never gonna be.
1-1 series, stole a game in Tampa, back to Montreal Friday.
I think they did a number on us tonight and played us like a fiddle. Tonights game was very similar how they play against Florida Panthers. Everything was pretty calculated by Tampa. The fight with Slaf was to get him off the ice for 5 minutes and intimidate him. It seemed to work. After that he was off his game. The hit on Anderson was to take him out. He has a target on his back and that is nothing new. They covered Suzuki and Cole amazingly. We got too caught up in the shenanigans and it costs us our stamina. Not having Dobson is starting to hurt.
Tampa are built for this type of violent in your face back and fourth hockey. Scrums every single whistle. This is how they win. We are supposed to use our speed and skill. They took that away from us and did a great job.
Next game we have to play smarter. We have to get better line changes. Can’t have guys out there for 2 minutes a shift and barely getting back to the bench alive. We need better coaching and a better effort. Marty should have used that timeout after Dobes made those 3 saves in overtime without any of our players getting in the guys faces.
3 Habs played to win tonight. Dobes, Anderson and Hutson. The rest of them including the coach did not show up. Lots of mistakes.
I expect changes in the lineup next game as well as a change of strategy from MSL. Habs can win this series but they will have to dig deep. Every single one of them.
