Seattle is a lousy franchise, he's likely see enough.
It's called trying to stay in a job…
Lack of boldness was not sticking to the plan, and very similar to the Flyers that punched way above their weight and Briere understood that was the coach getting everything out of his guys, as well as no injuries to key players etc… Francis already was worse off since he tried to play hardball with the league and they collectively said nope… Vegas fooled us…it aint happening again, and Francis with blinders on, missed on some trades because he was going iff what Vegas got.
Anyways, I was shocked they promoted him… so its more surprising he is choosing to step down… probably sees that the ownership values his opinion, even if its wrong

Their expansion draft was a total dud compared to Vegas’s
Seattle is a shitty city no one wants to play there and they made horrible trades
A lot of teams were trying to tank for Bedard which resulted in their first playoffs in a weaker division.
I don't think the Kraken were prepared for that.
