I really hate how inconsistent the officials are with embellishment calls. You’ll see a play like that and honestly the surprise could have been what caused the reaction but them then you’ll see someone just faceplant nowhere near anyone and the refs just shake their heads.

If he doesn’t go down, does the high stick still get called? I don’t think so, refs would have said it is just an accident. Crosby did what he had to do, but oversold it. Rightfully he also got a penalty. But it was worth a try, they’re down 0-2, and if he stays on his feet, I’m 99% sure the refs don’t call anything. Sad reality of most sports today, being upright and tough is not rewarded.
Crysby was a nickname for a reason. He really seemed to stop for a while but it’s back with authority now.
