  1. Same old same old from top management. Yzerman and Co. seemingly have an endless runway. Game philosophy needs to change, team philosophy needs to change, and above all the mentality across the board needs to change. This team has been built with soft players and popsicle sticks. Disappointing news conference that did not inspire much confidence for any real change to come.

  2. Fire this guy three years ago. Jesus fucking Christ it's been seven years. The Candiens were good, got bad, rebuilt their team and are good again in the time that Yzerman has taken us from bad to bad

  3. Sell everyone minus the new rookies like edvinsson etc and fire yzerman

PLEASE, I can’t see these soft ass players and yzerman take the ice anymore

  4. I got big roster changes are coming vibes. Was very wish washy on Larkin- especially long term. Saying I believe in prospects we have when asked directly about Larkin to me says there may be something cooking. Personally I think it needs to happen; and running it back with a marginally better bottom six doesn’t make me think the top six is good enough to still get it done.

  5. This GM needs to be fired tomorrow or today. This guy's got to be gone. We are never going to be good for another 20 effing years like this is unacceptable. This is Detroit. This is hockeytown. This is a insult to the fans of this franchise

  6. dude, Sounds like to me that both he and Chris Illitch are on the same page and these aren't the guys. That is what he is saying. he explained why the free agency market is tough with the salary cap going up because teams can resign guys. he knows the center depth sucks ans everybody outside the core 4 need to go. thats what I got out of it. Am I wrong? I get why we are where we are at because you cn't drain the prospect pool. It's super frustrating. But can somebody do better? I think probably not.

  7. Yzerman: "We need better players…."

Ok. That's a start. That's an admission of sorts.

    Kick to the curb:
JT Compher, Andrew Copp, Michael Rasmussen, Mason Appleton, Travis Hamonic.

Get me Free Agents: Evgeni Malkin, Boone Jenner, Bobby McMann.

Not tough enough to play against?
Get me Evander Kane and revisit Jacob Trouba.

    There! All done!

  8. Why does this remind me of the 96 off-season. They did a big trade we all know what happened then. Maybe that's what they need to do now. Might be what they need to make the playoffs and change. Todd looked upset and pissed in the press conference.

  9. Yzerman "we need better players" ….resigns ben chariot for 3 years till hes 38 with a full 2 year no move. how exactly do you improve the blueline with a boat anchor in place that cant play hockey and cant be moved??

  10. Yzerman built a winner in Tampa because he got rid of Martin St.Louis and Vincent Lecavalier, what he needs to do is trade Larkin and build around Seider, Raymond and the younger players

  11. I would make an admittedly nit-picky correction but otherwise, I 1000% agree with everything you said. The did draft two really big forwards, but they didn't or don't "play big". Those two are Elmer Soderblom (6'8") and Michael Rasmussen (6'5").
