If the Habs get through this series I feel like they make a run to the Final. Feels like if you can navigate through the scrums and veteran talent of Tampa, you’ve made the jump.
After watching both games, I would agree that Tampa is playing a crazy physical game, but some of the Montreal players are instigating and starting stuff too. Josh Anderson specifically. So Montreal is guilty of starting some of these fights too
Time to Panthers: 3:07.
Vasy has an injury history that greatly shortens his useful years. When you mess up your back as a goalie it messes up everything and you deteriorate faster.
Totally agree. Dumb mistakes by slaf and dach at the very end cost Habs rlthe game 2. Hugh momentum swing. 2-0 vs 1-1 against TB. Now it has become a coin flip unfortunately
Habs decided to protect the lead after going up by 1. Shots on goal were nill in OT. Time to get back to what made them successful in the 1st game.
That wasn't interference
Consider this thought….Tampa is playing with edge in an attempt to throw Habs off their game strategy because Tampa knows it cannot go head to head with Habs!
You forget that Tampa doesn't get penalized for anything, so they can get away with it.
Other media sites just say the Lightning are bullies now. You guys say they drag teams into the fight. National Media says Tampa is old… you guys actually look up their ages. Why do you guys have better takes then most of the media I hear?
I hate playoff hockey, the scrums, face washing, hacking with the sticks.. Just drop the gloves!
Must be nice, Tampa is the best team in the east and it's at about 30 or 40 percent of the strength it was when the Leafs had to play them every year. FN way she goes
Not for mtl they are cooked now after 12 minutes of domination
If hutson doesnt hit the post and score on the sabourn penality he took at the end of the game after cooper decides to put him there and the lightning gets eleminated, Cooper might have lost his job.
Where the hell is Cole Caufield and Suzuki at
Habs started it the last game of the year going after Kuch. FAFO. Montréal had 6 shots in the 3rd and zero in OT.
Gallagher has to be in the lineup next game.
What about Slaf giving up the puck that led to the Kucherov goal? The Habs had problems clearing the D-zone in the early part of the season and they have improved on that considerably. He won't do that again. I'm a Habs fan and I think the Lightning are better at this stage, but the Habs are miles ahead of last year and they are getting better all the time. The rebuild is ahead of schedule, win or lose this round.
Habs still learning, no matter the outcome they will come out of this series with more precious experience.
This isn’t their year to go all the way when Demidov is still playing with 3rd line caliber players on his line.
They will get him some help this summer and will take another step towards legitimate cup contention.
Well when half the leagues gets in the playoffs and out of 32 ur no 5 and 6 square off in the first…. yeah its a quality series…. that should be at least a 2nd round match up….
The habs arent the leafs steve… they got a culture to win.
I'm hearing more about the useless leafs than I did about the entire Habs-lightning series…so far.
Totally agree that it’s do or die for Tampa – only Edmonton I feel has more pressure to win now. Maybe Carolina.
JJ Moser is a fantastic player. They did great on that trade. I like Sergachev but I also think Moser was criminally underrated.
I have a feeling if a top team in the league added a guy like Durzi he'd become the next Moser too.
The leafs definitely started it that year, Bunting got suspended the 1st game.
Do you guys not realize MTL is missing Dobson? You keep bringing up Hedman, but not Dobson.
If mtl beats Tampa, we can beat anybody.
Go Habs Go
As a heavy moosehead drinker, I need to know where to get that cap
Toronto media : You go in there and make it about the Leafs
Samuel Blais hits hard and often, and he can play too ( since being sent down to the AHL he's got 32 points in 35 games, which is not bad at all for a 4th liner)
As playoff experience, he has a cup to show for, it would make sense to call him up
…to mention Dobes (he's doing well, can be skittish at times and isn't the best playing the puck), all I can say is that the Lightning are LUCKY that Price isn't there… because that would have meant he was still healthy, and we all know a healthy Price is scary in the post season. I really hope his boy learns the ways of the goaltender and inherits his pops shill set and gets drafted by MTL in the future. His name has two syllables, and would cheer just like Carey… Carey…. Carey.
Hagel, Hartman, Schmaltz, Danault… all were young talent with the Chicago Blackhawks in the late 2010s which could have been used to extend the dynasty. Pre-emptive condolences to the Oilers.
During the last power play of the game, Hutson hit the post. It just wasn't meant to be.
