Always enjoy reading these articles when they come out, it’s nice to get a more in depth look at these players

One thing I noticed about the first two games was the lack of noise. Even when the Bolts were winning or doing good things. Tomorrow night will be absolutely insane. I won’t be there, but it will still be cool to drink it all in on TV. They’ll be able to hear the Bell Centre crowd in Ottawa

  3. SpaceWoodman

Better hope nobody ever find his Dad PO box, because he will be overflowing in habs cap for months.

  4. cjackc11

Maybe the brewers cap is good luck though Cole

  5. CallMeTeff

I almost cried at the end, well said Cole! That’s was a beautiful text.

Go Habs go, we can take this game tomorrow!

  6. bonheurboy69

Honestly one of my favorite players tribune reads ever. Loved reading this

  7. nottakingpart

I for one am ready to go through a brick wall.

  8. jordanthinkz

the ghost writing for this is so good, he has a second life in writing if any of this is actually his lol

  9. FakeCrash

So many amazing anectodes in this. Slaf destroying his car’s hood with a garage door is hysterical.

  10. hermanygrinder

What a delight! Someone get this kid a Substack

  11. Fragrant_Nebula_1080

Goosebumps. Get me to tomorrow night already!!!

    >And I know what you’re thinking. *Cole, are you crazy? You’re dropping this masterpiece in the middle of a playoff series? Shouldn’t you be napping?*

    >I *am* currently napping.

hilarious – this was exactly what i was thinking. these articles are always so well done. nice to get to know Cole a little better.

« I don’t know if too many rookies in NHL history had the whirlwind I had. One day I’m in my college apartment in Madison playing PlayStation … and 3 months later I’m playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. »

  14. nonebutmyself

Fuck me. Im crying from being so hyped up.

Let’s go, boys! Go Habs go!!

  15. Proof-Variation7005

it’s fun to be reminded that there’s now multiple generations behind you where it was totally normal for kids to be able to watch stuff on long car rides but not you cause you’re an old person and the best you could hope for was *mayyyyyybe* a game boy

  16. tino-the-rhino

The whole article is a good read but this part cracked me up:

*Slaf’s only issue is that he can’t seem to figure out how American garage doors work. He timed it wrong with the parking gate coming out of my building and crunched his entire hood. I think the car was brand-spanking new. He drove to the first home game and then immediately totaled it in the most comical, slow-motion way possible. He’s been carpooling to games with Demi ever since. I don’t know what mechanic he’s been dealing with, but I think he got hosed. He just got his car back now, six months later.*

Didn’t know Cole was as good at chirping as he is at shooting

I’m not crying, you’re crying. We love you, Cole!

So…as someone who taught English for many years, I’m very impressed at Cole’s writing ability. Well written and a great read, and a far cry from most of the hockey players’ writings I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

And I’d be happy to send your dad a hat, Cole (as I’m sure any fan here would). It’s the least I can do after all the excitement you’ve brought to this team.

  19. destroyermaker

Damn, even as a kid Cole had a mean shot

  20. Organic-Artichoke-21

Why is it so dusty in this room while I’m reading this article Cole wrote…bloody hell kid I hope you had a ghost writer and you’re not just one of those people who is amazing at anything you do…GO HABS GO

  21. destroyermaker

    >But just a special shoutout to Nick for all the assists. I can assure you he’s much louder away from the rink. The Quiet Leader branding is really solid though.

    Nick confirmed human after all

  22. twoconsonants

“There’s a kid out there with … *two* grippers?” I’m obsessed with him

  23. HabsFan77

“and then there’s a whole other tier, which is *Friday night* playoff hockey in Montreal”❤️🔥

Outstanding article btw. Caufield (or his ghostwriter) did an excellent job

  24. cclaranc

We’re gonna win it all this time, aren’t we?
